Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead the Advanced Science and Image Quality Engineering function for the Surgery business
• Establish and sustain criteria for the execution of image chain development on New Product Introductions (NPIs)
• Promote a culture of innovation and collaboration to build the imaging roadmap
• Provide technology differentiation, functional excellence and teamwork
• Attend customer visits and clinical training sessions
• Establish and maintain relationships with external partners to allow for collaboration on imaging algorithms
• Champion a culture that ensures outstanding compliance and adherence to product quality in all areas for the Quality Management System in GEHC
• Ensure that the organizational design, functional expertise, engineering process experience of the technology team is positioned to exceed customer expectations
• Formulate the strategy for continuous improvement of systems, products and processes
• Engage in cross-functional activities, including recruitment, retention, talent acquisition, team development, and mentoring
• Inspire team’s engagement in all phases of product development
• Support existing products within Manufacturing, Sourcing, Service and Supplier Quality Engineering

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in STEM Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in project or people leadership within a product development or research development environment
• 3 years project management or direct / indirect people leadership experience

Desired Characteristics

• Masters or PhD in Engineering or Physics
• 7 years relevant industrial experience
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally

The Image Quality Engineer is responsible for research and development for new and existing imaging products in the GE HealthCare Surgery product line. They prove a concept to be valid by the application of scientific and engineering methodologies. Their work typically has the objective of demonstrating through test or analysis the performance and implementation potential of a concept. Requires mastery of a body of theoretical knowledge. Requires developed and strong foundation of function skills and knowledge of relevant technologies.

Essential Responsibilities

Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Specifying requirements which can be implemented by the engineering team
• Executing design to engineering standards
• Developing methods to quantify subsystem interactions and their effects on image quality
• Verification and validation of system features and sub-systems relating to X-ray exposure control, image processing, and visualization.
• Working within a team to deliver technical solutions
• Working with external collaborators and/or technical leadership to ensure that the technical deliverables are consistent with the goals of larger programs, projects or initiatives

BS in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 4 years relevant work experience.

• Responsible for the Quality Management System and Compliance activities for the site
• Creates a Quality culture by driving compliance activities and Quality metrics
• Ensures quality and regulatory compliance while driving process effectiveness and efficiency
• Utilize proven interpersonal skills to communicate with direct colleagues and the business. Provides informal guidance to team members. Concisely explains complex information to others.
• Operates with some autonomy, activities require professional judgment
• Utilizes professional experience, technical skills, and analytical thinking to provide compliance guidance to colleagues and assist with problem resolution. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
• Applies technical writing skill to maintain Quality procedures
• Represents GE HealthCare to external agencies

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or a minimum of 4 years' work experience in Quality management
• Minimum of 1 year experience working in a regulated industry
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (both written and oral)
• Demonstrated experience and proficiency with MS Office word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and database applications

Desired Characteristics

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a regulated industry is preferred
• Demonstrated understanding or aptitude to understand ISO 13485 Medical Device QMS requirements and regulatory requirements
• Demonstrated knowledge of Quality Management System tools
• Experience performing internal audits and participating in external audits
• Demonstrated ability to lead, acknowledge, develop, communicate & implement a strategy under crisis situations to ensure compliance

• Demonstrated understanding of product development lifecycles, design change and document change control, process verification and validation methodologies, manufacturing / production process control methodologies, and servicing in a medical device environment
• Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
• Demonstrated expertise to effectively communicate within all levels of the organization around concepts of QMS processes like Document controls, Corrective & Preventive Action (CAPA), complaints & risk management & product quality improvement
