Responsibilities:

  • Guide and influence governance and the facilitation of the execution of the Manager Control Assessment (MCA, i.e.. Risk & Control Self-Assessment) as required by the MCA Standard including the assessment and appropriate approval of risk associated with business changes.
  • Responsible for the quality, completeness, and accuracy of the implementation of the Control Framework, including Risk Control Policy, Control Standard, Issue Management Policy, Lesson Learned Policy and Control Inventory.
  • Manage and allocate resource for the identification of issue root cause, partnering with control and process owners to recommendations holistic corrective actions and improvements, provide check and challenge to ensure appropriate escalation in according with Issue Management and Escalation Policies.
  • Assist in directing teams in the implementation of the Lessons Learned Policy, including monitoring of control breaches and dissemination and learnings across other business units for process improvement to limit the occurrence of similar future events and where similar risk exposure might exist.
  • Support review and challenge, within the FLUs, on the effective design and management of controls to mitigate risks as required by the Control Standards, including implementation and operation, conducting the control monitoring, handling deficiencies, and escalating issues for resolution.
  • Direct teams on the timeliness, accuracy and completeness of the MCA through controls prior to the execution of a process (QC).
  • Assess adherence to the MCA Standard through controls after the execution of a process (QA).
  • Exercise control over Operational and Compliance Risk in accordance with established Policy requirements.
  • Allocate resource to identify, assess, escalate, and manage risk exposures across Risk Categories (Operational Compliance, Strategic, Reputational, etc), including material, emerging and concentration risks in accordance with enterprise Policies and the establishment of Key Indicators to monitor risk exposures.
  • Assess Risk Appetite and monitor / assess exposures against this in accordance with enterprise requirements (if applicable).
  • Take ownership to identify, assess, record and response to Operational and Compliance Risk events, ensuring these are captured accurately, timely and in accordance with requirements.
  • Responsible that adequate governance and training are in place to support management of Risk profiles.
  • Assess the risks associated with New Activities and changes to the Business, ensuring these are well understood and adequately controlled (if applicable).
  • Support operational risk scenario analysis and stress testing for Operational Risk Capital requirements.
  • Take ownership of risk and control assessments or coordination for programs within various risk stripes and ensure sufficient subject matter expertise exists to enable management of these risks within the Business (e.g. third party, fraud, sanctions etc) (if applicable).
  • Take ownership to ensure that risk and control responsibilities and accountabilities are embedded within FLUs, including providing training and leading by example.
  • Guide and influence standards and procedures that conform to enterprise requirements and support sound operational and compliance risk management.
  • Apply knowledge of the business, products or services to identify and implement control points and processes throughout the business.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

About the role

Core Banking Technology which is part of Citi Services Technology is seeking afor leading the target state architecture definition for Core Banking modernization in LATAM region. This is a key regulatory commitment for the franchise and will involve designing the target state solution across 20+ platforms front to back from Product Processors all the way to Finance and Regulatory Reporting for each of the markets. The role will be based out of Jersey City, NJ, United States

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture and discovery efforts for the in-scope LATAM markets, define the roadmap for moving from current state to the target state architecture and interim states influenced by migration strategy

  • Communicate the agreed solution architecture to senior stakeholders and collaborate with technology partners and domain architects in the formalization and adoption of IT standards and procedure

  • Interface with Services Architecture and other LOB architects, including representation in Design authority, Architecture workshops and Program Steering Committee

  • Collaborate with product teams across Payments, Loans, Liquidity, Trade, Markets, Operations and Finance to understand business drivers and provide thought leadership in solution design by decomposing requirements and collaboratively developing solutions that adhere to Services architecture principles and strategic blueprint.

  • Own, manage and apply architecture governance on solutions diagrams, application integration design, application mappings and data concepts.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written, influencing and engagement skills across all levels in the organization and ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical colleagues

  • Experience in designing hybrid architectures where applications reside both on-premise and public cloud including understanding of cloud provider services. Hands on experience with AWS services like EKS, Azure, AKS, GCP, GKE is a plus

  • Experience with large scale transformations while architecting and supporting frameworks for High Throughput and Real Time systems using microservices, domain driven design

  • Demonstrable expertise in the development of standards, architectural adoption and governance methods, design patterns and IT practices

  • API design/development experience including underlying technologies: REST, JSON, Swagger, YAML, SOAP

  • Experience in automating practical solutions for SDLC and Release management through CI and related tools including but not limited to: Gitlab, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Maven, Nexus, Artifactory, Sonar, Jira, Confluence, etc.

Working closely with the business, external vendors and internal technology teams, you would manage complex projects that will involve everything from incorporating a new functionality within the existing ecosystem, to analysing new requirements, documenting solutions, managing implementation and testing systems, ensuring that they are fit for purpose.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Work on data architecture design and principles, data integrity, reference data, data model version, and metadata standards for a data platform
  • Collaborate with Data Product Dev, business and development to address data issues and data feed changes
  • Collaborate with architecture and business users to review architecture design, evaluate technology tools, and technical solutions to influence business decisions
  • Lead to execute data management strategy, define data quality measures, develop automated data validation control process using programing languages and tools, and dashboard monitoring process with automated alerts
  • Identify critical data elements, create data catalog and data lineage for reporting and downstream data feeds
  • Evaluate and review overall data flow adhering with data architecture standards, review with stakeholders, and enhance data governance oversight with change management process
  • Assess complex data flows, and identify opportunities to simplify end-to-end data process
  • Perform data and business process analysis to identify data issues and root causes, and implement resolutions
  • Collaborate with Support to troubleshoot urgent production data issues and implement fixes
  • Contribute design and development of technical and business solutions for data and reporting
  • Engage with a global engineering teams and business partners to create business and functional requirements and solutions.
  • Collaborate with senior global development teams, cross functional teams, business and technology Stakeholders, and QA team to develop, track and report. Led project plans with cross program interdependencies for end-to-end implementation
  • Develop scalable and resilient data pipelines with real-time and batch processes into data warehouse
  • Support reporting application and downstream changes and testing


Qualifications:

  • Expertise in scalable data and event-driven enterprise architecture design, data management and data strategy.
  • Strong experience in leading the implementation of enterprise data architecture and data engineering utilizing best engineering practices
  • Strong experience in design data management solutions and implementing including data control, data lineage, data catalogue, and security access
  • Deep expertise in modern data engineering and data integration architecture and technology
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and management
  • Proven ability to effectively use complex analytical, interpretive and problem-solving techniques and execute plan
  • Passion and commitment for process and design simplification
  • Hands-on experience in data pipelines for batch and events -driven data process
  • Hands-on development experience with traditional and modern data systems (relational/non-relational databases, cloud/big data platform, ETL/ELT, data catalogue and data quality/control tools) and data mesh technology
  • Experience in data modeling for a large data warehouse, operational and analytical data stores
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and management
  • Experience data science/machine learning in a plus
  • Innovative mindset and can-do attitude to work under pressure
  • Experience working in financial services
  • Experience in data pipeline and integration using Java, Pythons, Airflow, and performance tuning

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience in computer science/statistics/data engineering/data science

Responsibilities:

  • Guide and influence governance and the facilitation of the execution of the Manager Control Assessment (MCA, i.e.. Risk & Control Self-Assessment) as required by the MCA Standard including the assessment and appropriate approval of risk associated with business changes.
  • Responsible for the quality, completeness, and accuracy of the implementation of the Control Framework, including Risk Control Policy, Control Standard, Issue Management Policy, Lesson Learned Policy and Control Inventory.
  • Manage and allocate resource for the identification of issue root cause, partnering with control and process owners to recommendations holistic corrective actions and improvements, provide check and challenge to ensure appropriate escalation in according with Issue Management and Escalation Policies.
  • Assist in directing teams in the implementation of the Lessons Learned Policy, including monitoring of control breaches and dissemination and learnings across other business units for process improvement to limit the occurrence of similar future events and where similar risk exposure might exist.
  • Support review and challenge, within the FLUs, on the effective design and management of controls to mitigate risks as required by the Control Standards, including implementation and operation, conducting the control monitoring, handling deficiencies, and escalating issues for resolution.
  • Direct teams on the timeliness, accuracy and completeness of the MCA through controls prior to the execution of a process (QC).
  • Assess adherence to the MCA Standard through controls after the execution of a process (QA).
  • Exercise control over Operational and Compliance Risk in accordance with established Policy requirements.
  • Allocate resource to identify, assess, escalate, and manage risk exposures across Risk Categories (Operational Compliance, Strategic, Reputational, etc), including material, emerging and concentration risks in accordance with enterprise Policies and the establishment of Key Indicators to monitor risk exposures.
  • Assess Risk Appetite and monitor / assess exposures against this in accordance with enterprise requirements (if applicable).
  • Take ownership to identify, assess, record and response to Operational and Compliance Risk events, ensuring these are captured accurately, timely and in accordance with requirements.
  • Responsible that adequate governance and training are in place to support management of Risk profiles.
  • Assess the risks associated with New Activities and changes to the Business, ensuring these are well understood and adequately controlled (if applicable).
  • Support operational risk scenario analysis and stress testing for Operational Risk Capital requirements.
  • Take ownership of risk and control assessments or coordination for programs within various risk stripes and ensure sufficient subject matter expertise exists to enable management of these risks within the Business (e.g. third party, fraud, sanctions etc) (if applicable).
  • Take ownership to ensure that risk and control responsibilities and accountabilities are embedded within FLUs, including providing training and leading by example.
  • Guide and influence standards and procedures that conform to enterprise requirements and support sound operational and compliance risk management.
  • Apply knowledge of the business, products or services to identify and implement control points and processes throughout the business.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
