  • Collaborate with team on product security needs and requirements; review product security architectures and design specifications.
  • Collaborate in planning of software verification and validation strategies.
  • Review vulnerability assessments, fuzzing and penetration testing to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure continued consistent best practices and processes for secure coding, configuration management, and patching.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and maintain risk management documentation consistent across the ICTx portfolio.
  • Oversee and enhance incident response plans and processes, ensuring rapid and effective resolution of security incidents.
  • Drive continuous improvement of vulnerability management, including the evaluation and deployment of necessary patches or updates.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders (Software Development, R&D, Regulatory, IT, etc.) to align on security goals and requirements.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, and address findings related to cybersecurity design and risk management processes.

What we’re looking for in you:

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, with a focus on product development and risk management or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, with a focus on product development and risk management
  • Proven experience leading security design and architecture reviews for complex, embedded medical devices or similar technologies.
  • Demonstrated track record of creating and executing security risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
  • In-depth understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity Framework).
  • Understanding of privacy regulations (HIPAA, GDPR) and their intersection with medical device cybersecurity.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and team-building capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with technical teams, stakeholders, and executive leadership.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, bridging gaps between technical, regulatory, and business functions.

Preferred qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working in the medical device industry or a similarly regulated environment; security architecture or medical device administration experience in healthcare settings is also a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with secure coding practices, vulnerability scanning tools, fuzzing, and penetration testing methodologies.
  • Knowledge of embedded systems security, wireless communications, network protocols, and PKI.
  • Familiarity with FDA regulations and guidance documents for medical devices (e.g., 21 CFR Part 820).
  • Working knowledge of SW96/TIR57/TIR97, IEC 62304 (software lifecycle), IEC 60601 (electrical safety), and ISO 14971 (risk management).
  • Experience supporting VA Handbook 6500 compliance and ISO/IEC 27001 certification.

About the role:
As Education Specialist Operations you are responsible for the development and sustainable roll out of our lifetime learning programs within Operations. You define and implement our training strategy and via continuous improvement ensure this aligns with our current and future organizational needs. You will work closely with regional educational centers to develop and implement educational programs which will contribute to knowledge and skills enhancements for our Operations colleagues. You will manage the Kerkrade DL training team, including training coordinators, and actively coach and support our trainers who make sure employees apply the required knowledge, skills and behaviours in their daily routines.

Your professional education expertise and contributions will support our strategic directions on our journey for operational excellence in everything we do. Next to these core activities you will also be our Curriculum Manager for both our Learning Management Systems (LMS) and our Training Record Systems (TRS).
You partner with all managerial levels and colleagues to provide learning support, coaching and evaluate learning effectiveness. You keep up to date with latest learning trends and are consulted as subject matter expert on a broad range of learning topics.
You'll be thinking outside the box and offer creative yet efficient and effective training solutions.

Your responsibilities also include:

  • Organize and sustain lifetime learning activities, including on boarding of new learners and interacting closely with education centers as our first point of contact.
  • Coach and support individual learners, instructors and their supervisors on how to translate the learning into practice.

You fulfil a key commercial role within the hospital accounts in the Southern part of the Netherlands.

  • Be accountable for sales and customer satisfaction of the Boston Scientific
    Urology portfolio by managing the hospital accounts in the Southern part of the Dutch market daily.
  • Prospect and develop positive relationships with potential and existing healthcare professional customers and other stakeholders (Urologists, OR-Nurse specialists, department managers, biomedical engineers and purchasers) in the assigned accounts.
  • Maintain open communication lines with current and prospective customers on programs, promotions and pricing trends.
  • Establish, implement and monitor own account plans for the assigned Urology accounts based on BSC business objectives and customer needs. Contributes to the development of annual strategic plan by providing the RSM, NSM and Marketing with detailed business intelligence for accounts in scope (e.g. market size and potential, market / products trends, business opportunities, competitive landscape, updated clinical and economic stakeholders).
  • Secure and/or renew existing orders by coordinating communication on product availability, delivery dates, clinical and technical support and inventory levels between customers and Boston scientific customer service.
  • Conduct and participate in regional and national marketing & educational training activities to support the development and expansion of relationships and market share.
  • Secures ongoing use of Boston Scientific solutions and field clinical support in scheduled Urological procedures in the assigned accounts, by intimate understanding of the workflow and stakeholder requirements, in line with set targets.
  • Work with customer service department (devices, disposable and capital equipment specialists) on a daily basis, to ensure superior customer service and product use.
  • Keep current on BSC new products or services being offered and give feedback to the corporate stakeholders on market receptivity, concerns or issues learned from the customers.
  • Maintain an ongoing knowledge of all aspects of competitive product innovations, sales promotions, catalogs and advertising for personal sales effectiveness and corporate market intelligence.
  • Attend industry trade shows and clinical congresses as assigned, responsible for event follow up, including a summary report to sales and marketing management, turning in orders, communicating problems for internal follow up, getting leads and sending appropriate follow-up correspondence.
  • Maintain accurate record of sales activities, customer files and field sales reports required, communicating required information as needed. Exerts skills on used systems and processes for account reporting and opportunity planning in the CRM system.
  • Creates and maintains accurate overview of replacement dates for existing equipment in order to ensure timely involvement of Boston Scientific in opportunities for renewal of own and replacement of competitor equipment.
