As a Compliance Analyst, you’ll play a key role in protecting the integrity of our platform by identifying and investigating potentially suspicious or illegal activity. You'll work across complex datasets and regulatory frameworks to help ensure we meet our global compliance obligations.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Applying analytical techniques to complex data sets to develop well-reasoned recommendations for reporting cases to global regulatory authorities.
Conducting thorough, end-to-end reviews of potentially suspicious or illegal financial activity.
Performing time-sensitive, detailed analyses of potential Anti-Money Laundering (AML) or suspicious activity cases across multiple jurisdictions.
Assessing customer profiles and large volumes of transaction data to verify activity aligns with expectations, including adherence to the Acceptable Use Policy and Know Your Customer (KYC) standards.
Leveraging internal data and open-source tools to investigate potentially illicit behavior and support case decisions.
Documenting findings clearly and concisely in both manual and automated case management systems, and preparing internal reports as needed.
Exercising sound judgment and making informed decisions or recommendations based on investigation outcomes.
What you'll need to bring:
Language Proficiency: Exceptional command of bothJapaneseandEnglish, with strong understanding of grammar, syntax, and punctuation in both languages.
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Law, Criminal Justice, or a related field is preferred.
Investigative Experience: Prior experience conducting research and investigations in areas such as Fraud, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Due Diligence (CDD), or Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD).
Analytical Writing: Ability to distill complex information and data into clear, concise, and logically structured written narratives that highlight key findings.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including use of formulas, pivot tables, conditional formatting, and other tools to analyze large data sets and support investigative conclusions.
Time Management: Strong organizational skills and dependability to meet productivity goals and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Content Review: Willingness and ability to assess potentially sensitive or offensive material objectively and make impartial, fact-based decisions.
Critical Thinking: Capable of evaluating opposing viewpoints on complex issues and making sound, risk-based decisions supported by available evidence.
Collaboration: Ability to engage with peers, financial crime professionals, management, and cross-functional teams to communicate case outcomes and investigative rationale effectively.
Adaptability: Openness to feedback and commitment to continuous improvement in investigative practices.
