Senior Product Architect

Your role:

• Work on product development of Grooming and Beauty appliances, from initial design concepts to mass production in a multidisciplinary team.
• Lead and manage the internal team, external suppliers and in-house factories, eg.TEG, consultants, and institution to execute on project (PDLM/AD), ideas generation, building fundamental knowledge principles and technology roadmap.
• Lead and manage internal (eg. morale) and external team to fulfill business requirements from technical point of view.
• Define future position of technical team and strategize the competence vs KPI to achieve short and long term goals and objectives.
• Define product and technology roadmap with business stakeholders with regular new ideas generation.
• Ensure the ethical and processes (ISO, export control, documentation, standard work, etc) adherence, integrity and continuous improvement E2E from AD to PDLM to end of life of the product.
• Regularly monitor and manage the tight budget and all KPIs defined.
• Design and detail mechanical components and systems according specification, including conducting predictive analysis and calculations.
• Select materials (metal and plastics) and processes appropriate for those designs.
• Detail 3D and 2D files incorporating Design for (mass) Manufacturing and Design for Assembly requirements.
• Manage product requirements, lead DFMEA’s and follow the v-model methodology.
• Lead ideations sessions, drive concept creation and decision making.
• Work via agile approach.
• Identify gaps and implement improvements to bring the mechanical engineering group to a higher level.
• Document your choices and proof in a Design History File (evidence document) and archiving design files in relevant system.

You're the right fit if:

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering, with minimum 10 years of experience in the field of mechanical product development and preferably leading a team;
• Experience with working in (international) multi-disciplinary projects, preferably in Business to Consumer.
• People management skill and can accept challenges in new and unknown area.
• Technology and Function creation with principle and fundamental knowledge understanding and application. Knowledge of the design of mechanical constructions in plastic and/or metal and you are familiar with the mass manufacturability aspects (mould / assembly tooling design);
• Ability to rapidly develop engineering concepts and drive them to functional prototypes.
• Ability to effectively utilize both empirical and theoretical methods to solve complex problems.
• Experience with CFD analysis, FEA (Ansys), and/or other analytical software programs;
• working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Good communication and strong interpersonal skill, to manage key stakeholders, work with internal project team, 3rd party developer, as well as external supplier. Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Experience in the design and development of medical devices or the medical device industry is a plus
• Quality driven. Experience with Design for Six Sigma (i.e., being greenbelt certified) is a plus.
• Ability to balance innovation and practical realization.

• Ambitious, has leadership skills and is a team player
