CO+I is responsible for delivering over 200 Microsoft web portals, Live and Online Services around the world including infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability. Our focus is on smart growth, high efficiency, and deliver trusted experience to customers and partners worldwide.

Within CO+I, Datacenter Construction Delivery (DCD) is responsible for delivering datacenter capacity for Microsoft’s cloud business meeting all safety, quality, sustainability, schedule, and budget requirements.


The DCD Construction Americas (AMER)

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in Construction Project Management
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years people management experience.
  • 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in data center development or other critical infrastructure projects

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in Construction Project Management
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years people management experience.
  • 8+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Responsibilities
  • Manages team's deployment of large-scale, campus, and/or regionally-based delivery solutions while also socializing with regional leaders.
  • Analyzes and recommends delivery options from a technical standpoint based on best practices and trends, supports the development and implementation of all organizational procedures and standards, and ensures they are followed by all team members and vendors.
  • Orchestrates work with internal and external partners to resolve complex issues and ensures schedule predictability to contracted milestones and in doing so may significantly impact global construction projects.
  • Reviews and provides feedback to the team and regional management regarding resource procurement, allocation, and human capital resources for future upcoming projects. Holds their team(s) accountable for on-schedule delivery of projects by ensuring project progress reports including scope, schedule, resources, and budget are provided.
  • Manages the day-to-day coordination for meetings and activities with vendors, cost managers, and/or owner/architect/contractors.
  • Facilitates collaboration with other internal teams.
  • Reviews safe worksite(s) by adhering to organizational, industry procedures, and global safety policies.
  • Establishes, reviews, and communicates risk mitigation goals and develops metrics, dashboards and/or scorecards to drive progress.
  • Leads the day-to-day management of vendors.
  • In addition, this role has people management responsibilities including driving employee growth and development, executing projects, and managing performance.
