As a Senior Business Consultant with a specialization in Private Equitt, you will leverage your extensive experience Fund accounting, Hedge accounting, Accounting for leases to deliver strategic solutions to our clients. Your deep understanding of financial instruments will be crucial in advising clients on optimizing their financial processes and systems.
Accounting Operations:
- Manage the month-end close process including, cash & bank, vendors, customers, fixed assets, intercompany ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve any discrepancies identified during the month-end close.
- Coordinate with various departments to collect financial data and ensure proper accounting treatment for all transactions.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management reports, highlighting key financial results and variances to budget.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures during the reporting process.
- Support the preparation of consolidated financial reports for multiple entities within the organization.
- Provide detailed explanations for significant month-over-month and year-over-year variances.
- Assist with the implementation of financial reporting systems and process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency.
Lease accounting:
- Oversee lease accounting operations, ensuring compliance with ASC 842 and IFRS 16 standards within the private equity sector.
- Analyze and interpret complex lease agreements to accurately record and report lease transactions.
- Maintain and update the lease accounting system, ensuring accurate data capture for financial reporting.
- Coordinate with the investment team to assess the impact of lease accounting on potential acquisitions and divestitures.
- Prepare and review lease-related financial disclosures for inclusion in fund financial statements.
- Collaborate with property management and legal teams to ensure all lease modifications are accounted for correctly.
- Reconcile lease accounting schedules to the general ledger and resolve any discrepancies.
- Provide training and guidance to the finance team on lease accounting principles and updates.
Fund accounting & reporting:
- Manage and oversee fund accounting for private equity funds, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and industry standards.
- Calculate net asset values (NAVs), including capital account allocations, fees, and carried interest in accordance with fund agreements.
- Prepare and distribute investor statements, capital call notices, and distribution notices.
- Monitor cash movements and forecast cash requirements for investment activities and fund operations.
- Coordinate with the investment team to record and reconcile investment transactions and valuations.
- Prepare financial statements, footnotes, and partner capital statements for quarterly and annual reporting.
- Liaise with external auditors during fund audits and assist with the preparation of audit schedules and responses.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls and financial reporting procedures.
- Participate in the due diligence process for new fund launches, including fund structure and operational setup.
Skills and attributes for success:
- Good understanding of Private Equity (PE) Funds.
- Candidate from consulting background in PE finance would be an added advantage.
- Good understanding of Private Equity Controllership & Reporting.
- Working knowledge of Investran/Lemon edge is must .
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with investors and senior management.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in business, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline such as accounting designation (CA, CPA & MBA-Finance), or an equivalent combination of related experience and education.
- A minimum of 6-8 years of experience in finance, with a focus on Private Equity.
- Certification in Private Equity from renowned Institute will be added advantage.
