Job Description: Senior Mapping Programmer
The Senior Mapping Programmer is a skilled professional responsible for designing, building, maintaining, testing, and documenting data mapping specifications based on clinical database structures established by Global Clinical Data Management and Clinical Research. This role ensures that mapping specifications comply with SDTM structure requirements and utilizes end-to-end (E2E) visibility tools to guarantee the quality and timeliness of data flow to the Clinical Data Repository.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement data mapping specifications that meet SDTM compliance in support of the Clinical Data Repository for analysis and reporting by the Scientific Programming team.
- Manage change requests and incident corrections within the clinical database, adhering to proper change management protocols.
- Support the development of a standard library for data mapping to the Clinical Data Repository, including business rules for analysis and reporting, as well as transformations to ensure accurate data transfer between disparate databases.
- Maintain the data mapping library and oversee transformations for the E2E visibility tool.
- Assess technical feasibility for data transformations and execute necessary implementations to adhere to Business Rules for SDTM compliance.
- Collaborate effectively with the RaM Mapping team to address issues and propose ideas for enhancing business processes.
- Provide ongoing support within a dynamic, matrixed organization.
Additional Activities:
- Engage in various initiatives such as study improvement task forces, automation projects, testing of new systems, and continuous training and mentoring.
- Act as a mentor, delivering training sessions and guidance to junior Mapping Programmers.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Life Sciences, Data Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in clinical data management, data mapping, or a related field.
- Proven experience with SDTM standards and clinical trial data management processes.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using E2E visibility tools and clinical database systems.
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Experience in project management and change management practices.
- Ability to mentor and train junior team members effectively.
