Job Description

What you will do:

Bring energy, knowledge, innovation and leadership to carry out the following:

Incumbents are required to perform all craft tasks associated with:

• equipment breakdown,
• modifications to equipment,
• the installation of new equipment,
• the reconfiguration of equipment associated with plant cleaning and turnarounds,
• routine preventative maintenance programmes.

• reporting to the API Maintenance Manager technicians receive direction and instruction on their assignments.
• incumbents are expected to operate with minimal direction. Incumbents need and in-depth knowledge of plant equipment and operation standards for GMP, Safety and Environmental protection.

What skills you will need:

In order to excel in this role, you will more than likely have:

• Qualified mechanical craft with minimum 2 years post qualifying experience
• Knowledge and experience of Safety and Health, LOTO, Hot Work and permit systems
• Welding, principles, practices and processes,
• Pneumatic and hydraulic systems,
• Equipment installation practice, including rigging,
• Air handling systems, air conditioning and refrigeration,
• Steam boilers and distribution systems,
• Machining principles and practices: - turning, milling, grinding, cutting,
• Piping systems,
• Pumps, Compressors,
• Drive systems and components,
• Mechanics and mechanical transmissions,
• Trouble shooting skills,
• Materials: - steel, alloys, plastics, glass, teflon, etc.
• Engines and associated equipment,
• Maintenance documentation, records and drawings,
• Lubrication
• Through the training process and continuous learning, a thorough knowledge and understanding of relevant M&I Policies and Procedures will be required.
• A working knowledge of pharmaceutical plant and equipment preferred
• Ability to communicate and work effectively in a team environment
• Time management (Self)
