Lead and develop the Electron Optics team covering optics, detectors, sources, and simulations.
This individual will provide vision and leadership in N+2 related activities in the EBeam division at KLA, develop and release N+1 and support current generation products.
This individual will report directly to the Director of HW of engineering and is expected to be able to make decisions on and discuss roadmap strategies and technology details with senior management of the division and the company.
Develop and/or provide significant guidance to the top-level system specifications, system error budget, interfaces and working parameters for the optimum hardware/software solution.
Activities include risk retirement of system architectures and sub-system technologies necessary to meet customer requirements in the 3+ year time frame.
Find and develop new suppliers if new technologies are not covered with current partners.
Drive N+2 sub-system development projects both internally and with external collaborators
Stay up to date on related external research and developments.
Establish contacts with academia and other related organizations as appropriate and drive research projects if applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
Typically includes a Ph.D. in Physics or related field and a minimum of 10 years of work experience.
3 or more years of experience in team management and staff development
Extensive knowledge in the following technical areas:
Background in Electron Optics including optical system, lens, and detector design, and tolerance analysis of complex optical systems
Knowledge of Vacuum and High Voltage design best-known-methods
Experience with
Scanning electron microscopes, image formation and analysis, and electron surface interaction.
Solid experience in research collaborations in industry and academia
Minimum Qualifications
• Doctorate (Academic) with at least 7 years of experience OR
• Master's Level Degree with at least 8 years of experience OR
• Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 10 years of experience
