ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leading the design and development of innovative mechanical systems and components, managing projects, and ensuring that designs meet the highest standards of functionality, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Utilize CAD software to create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings.
  • Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and analysis. Optimize designs for performance, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Manage multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams for design integration.
  • Plan and execute testing and validate prototypes. Analyze test data and implement design improvements.
  • Lead design reviews and ensure design quality.
  • Ensure designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Support the development of engineering standards and processes.
  • Work closely with suppliers and vendors for material and component selection.
  • Evaluate supplier capabilities and quality.

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field. Master’s degree in mechanical engineering is a plus.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering, with a focus on semiconductor or optoelectronic components.
  • Proven experience in designing and developing machines and tools in related electronics or Hard disk drive manufacturing.
  • Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in other languages is an advantage.

PREFERRED:

  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with FEA and Design optimization tools.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., ASME Y14.5, SEMI-S2, SEMI-S8).
  • Experience in drawings and tolerance analysis with GD&T that identified in part and assembly drawings.
  • Understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly).

SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in CAD and CAE software like SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ANSYS, COSMOS for creating detailed mechanical designs and simulation models.
  • Proficiency in the use and management of automated machines, including system setup, calibration, and troubleshooting. Experience with high precision motion control system and machine vision systems.
  • Familiarity with additional engineering software like MATLAB, LabVIEW, or PLC programming may be beneficial.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and data interpretation using tools such as Minitab, JMP, or similar software. Ability to analyze related statistical data that related to machine design and improvements such as Process capability, GR&R, Correlation, SPC and DOE.
  • Knowledge of various manufacturing processes such as machining, injection molding, casting, and additive manufacturing. Knowledge of different materials, their properties, and how they react under different conditions, including metals, polymers, composites, and ceramics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with teams in different regions. Experience in managing and resolving cross-cultural and cross-functional issues.
