• Work with Product Owner/Lead in understanding customer/project requirements, create/implement the design, and developing unit test scenarios to validate the solution/fixes.
• Analyse the issues, defect reports by test team using traces, debugging traces and develop fixes or enhancements.
• Experience dealing with customers problems, developing resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
• Troubleshoot network routing, interconnectivity, platforms, performance, and configurations issues in the layers.
• Create and review documentation and process regarding network implementation/deployments, recurring issues, new standard operating procedures, knowledge transfer material, etc.
• Participate in continuous and iterative software development cycles with emphasis on code quality, supportability, scalability and performance6. Document technical issues and solutions

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Required Technical and Professional Expertise with relevant experience of 7- 12 years:
Must to have:

• Extremely comfortable in Linux/unix development environment – commands/shell, Libraries and managing the development environment
• minimum of 3+ year experience Networking/OSI Layer (Layer 2 – Layer 5) – esp TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, IPsec, VLANs and VPCs.
• Excellent programming and debugging skills in C/C++ (REXX and Assembly would be advantageous)
• Proven track record of developing software for Network Product (router/switches), applications, and solutions (Leverage System interfaces)

Good to have:

• Comfortable with Linux Adminstration.
• Ability to write/modifying Shell Programs – Bash, KSH, CSH.
• Experience working with install/Build scripts, Makefiles and configuration.
• Strong team player with good communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to work effectively in a global team environment
• Proven command over the English language, both written and verbal

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Sound knowledge of virtualisation concepts, especially LPAR, KVM and z/VM;
• Solid understanding of systems architecture (Hardware/ Firmware)
• Knowledge of Linux administration
• Familiar with IBM Mainframe environment (hands-on would be Plus)
