In this role, you’ll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world.​ Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features for Android applications.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
• Debug and resolve software defects and issues.
• Perform code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to implement user-friendly interfaces.
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in Android development.
• Work on bug fixing and improving application performance.
• Collaborate with the QA team to ensure the quality of the applications.
• Assist in the documentation of the development process and application features.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Good understanding of object-oriented programming principles
• Minimum 1 year hands-on Android development experience
• Proficient in Java and Kotlin programming languages
• Previous experience with Android Studio, APIs, Material Design and Android SDK
• Basic knowledge for Jetpack Compose, MVI, Flows is a plus
• Knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
• Understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Problem-solving, analytical skills and CanDo attitude
• Good communication (English B1 level or above) and teamwork skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality software
