Responsibilities include:
Provide overall Quality Leadership for Qualcomm. Define quality goals and metrics and drive overall quality improvement.
Set direction for and directly manage the following groups: Customer Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality Engineering, Quality Systems, Reliability Engineering and Software Quality Engineering.
Lead all quality related interactions with customers. Understand customer requirements and expectations.
Collaborate with sales and customer engineering teams to ensure customer requirements are understood and incorporated into Quality Management processes.
Define and execute world class quality systems that support customers: Global RMA system, customer information requests, customer contract reviews, customer NPI support, quarterly quality reviews with key customers, PCN/EOL process, Issue resolution processes (Corrective Action, Preventive Action, 8D), etc.
Lead Supplier Quality Management to in ensuring the quality performance of key suppliers. Define supplier quality metrics and targets and meet with key suppliers quarterly to review them.
Drive supplier Quality Management initiatives including audits, performance evaluation and continuous improvement. Drive suppliers to implement best practices in SPC and FMEA. Ensure suppliers are TS16949 certified and capable to VDA6.3 audits.
Partner with PTE & Operations to establish, execute and maintain Quality strategies, Objectives and Processes.
Manage internal compliance to maintain industry quality standards. ISO9001-2000, ISO26262, etc. Provide leadership and guidance to functional groups to improve processes and drive continuous improvement and advise other departments on matters of compliances.
Manage and audit all quality activities to ensure compliance with internal, agreed upon customer’s specific requirements and corporate policies.
Develop training methods for quality awareness to ensure requirements are understood and practiced across the organization.
Define qualification requirements and procedures required to ensure product reliability. Drive on time completion of formal product reliability qualifications as a key part of the NPI process.
Define ongoing reliability requirements during high volume manufacturing.
Deliver world class product quality throughout the product lifecycle. Design quality into the NPI and HVM processes. Establish quality and reliability standard and test methods to ensure only good parts are shipped to customers.
Accountable for all aspects of the “Cost of Quality” to business processes, technology and operations. This role covers product development (hardware and software/controls), supply chain, procurement, manufacturing, as well as process quality in other departments that impact the overall Cost of Quality and business performance.
Responsible for Quality inputs to Corporate Environmental, Social and Government strategies.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Material Science or a related technical field of study.
15+ years Quality and Reliability experience in complex technologies and volume manufacturing industries,
Requires 10+ years of semiconductor industry experience.
Preferred Requirements:
MBA or Master’s degree Engineering, Physics, Material Science or a related technical field of study.
Twenty (20) to 25+ years of experience in Quality / Supplier Quality in a manufacturing environment
Experience in implementing and managing Quality Control processes from Supplier Quality Engineering to Manufacturing Process Control and Product Quality with a focus on prevention rather than detection and correction.
Experience implementing Quality Management Systems and Quality system expertise a must. Examples: ISO 9001:2000 implementation, Statistical Process Control, Quality auditing.
Proven experience and strong capability in problem solving such as 6 sigma, 8-Discipline, 5-Why root cause analysis, DoE, etc.
Expert in industry quality standards.
Expert in general quality processes.
Analytical Skills:The ability to collect information and identify fundamental patterns/trends in data. This includes the ability to gather, integrate, and interpret information from several sources.
Communication:The ability to convey information clearly and accurately, as well as choosing the most effective method of delivery (e.g., email, phone, face-to-face). This includes using a technically sound communication style both verbally and in writing.
Creating the New and Different: The ability to be creative. This includes the ability to produce breakthrough ideas, being a visionary, managing innovation, seeing multiple futures, having broad interests and knowledge, and gaining support in order to translate new ideas into solutions. This also includes the ability to plan and implement unconventional ideas and speculate about alternative futures without all of the data.
Getting Work Done: The ability to be organized, resourceful, and planful. This includes the ability to leverage multiple resources to get things done and lay out tasks in sufficient detail. This also includes the ability to get things done with fewer resources and in less time, work on multiple tasks at once without losing track, and foresee and plan around obstacles.
Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of program management methodology (e.g., planning, scheduling, tracking, execution). This includes the ability to effectively use program management tools to carry out the program management function.

$247,000.00 - $370,500.00
