As you will support the efficient operation of thepurchasing team, developing relationships with suppliers, ensuring the materialaccording to production plan at the best price and on time. Crucial to the roleis communication with suppliers, actively seeking opportunities to streamlineand strengthen these crucial contacts.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to MRP messages to procure material in order tosupport production requirements. Responsible for maintenance of purchaseorders, monthly forecasting for suppliers, maintenance of key planningparameters, and reconciliation of invoice and purchase order issues.
- Obtain the best value for materials. Best value is definedas a combination of: price, delivery, quality and service.
- Considers total costof acquisition when making procurement decisions.
- Manage supplier performance to ensure site is working withthe right strategic suppliers to support short- and long-term objectives. Take assertive position with suppliers whoare past due to ensure that every alternative is explored in able to improvepast due delivery schedules.
- Create commodity-based sourcing strategies to ensure siteis working with the appropriate vendors. Buyers should be able to weigh the sourcing strategies of the commodityteam in EMEA as well as the specific needs of site and total cost ofacquisition principles.
- Support the transition team to ensure project plans areupdated and requirements on purchase of parts are defined and ordered, so thatsupport of the transition and follow-on schedules is secured.
- Procure material according to ordering policies designed tominimize inventory costs and being left with inactive, obsolete and surplusinventory.
- Identify and manage measuresto reduce inactive, obsolete and surplus inventory when such do exist.
- Actively support, develop and seek opportunities to developand streamline relationships with suppliers. Actively work to improve thepurchasing process team.
Qualifications:
- University degree in business or related field.
- Experience in Purchasing or relevant,preferably in production company
- Negotiation skills
- Excellent English skills, other languages wouldbe an advantage
- Microsoft Office (Excel in advancelevel).
- Ability to communicate concisely at all levelsinside and outside the company
- Responsive and responsible to deliver oncommitments
- Result-oriented, proactive, team- player
- Quick learner, self starter.
- Very good communication skills, able toprioritize and work under pressure
