Cooperates closely with Product Managers to assure development focus and target delivery;
Creates and manages the delivery plan on a timely basys;
Ensures proper risk management;
Manages and prioritizes the team’s tasks, while balancing business thinking with the team’s needs and technical vision.
People management:
Manage the hiring and onboarding of the team members;
Defines challenging goals for himself and his group and supports his group in their achievement, measures success and goals completion, adequately evaluating the profit;
Helps his/her employees in getting the best out of themselves. Encourages the autonomy and independence of the employees;
Runs performance management and performance improvement processes within the group;
Is Involved in the professional activity and invests in developing the team: Directs, educates, brings about process improvements and specialisation;
Takes full accountability for the continuous improvement of his group;
Committed and accountable for the professional development of his group members;
Coaches and supports his employees;
Invests in team building and motivation within the group;
Help the team to identify and resolve risks and impediments, resolve bottlenecks and conflicts.
Process:
Lead continuous improvement in process and engineering practices on the company level;
Define and manage the unique development process in dynamic and changing enviroment, multiple projects and different technologies;
Encourages “best-practice” sharing through the participation and promotion of meetings, newsletters, knowledge sharing programs, and all other initiatives.
Acts as a part of the department management team ensuring collaboration with other group managers and Studios R&D departments helping achieve their goals;
Has solid understanding of development lifecycle and ensures the process is followed in his group, suggesting relevant improvements to achieve delivery efficiency in his group and studio;
Requirements:
2+ years of experience in managing development teams, preferably in the gaming industry/Studio;
Result-driven;
Open-mindedness to changes within a dynamic environment;
Passioned about software and gaming technologies with hands on experience;
Experience working with SCRUM and Kanban methodology;
Managerial skills;
Ability and willingness to travel
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, highly motivated, assertive;
Ability to perform under pressure and changing priorities;
Working with reporting systems: (e.g. Jira);
Conflict management and resolution skills;
Good English, ability to communicate fluently.
