As a Head of Transfer Agency - Executive Director within the Asia Pacific Operations organization, you will lead a team of skilled finance professionals in our J.P. Morgan Asset Management Hong Kong business. Your responsibilities will include establishing and managing the oversight and governance process across our key Transfer Agency vendors for the Hong Kong business. Additionally, you will supervise approximately 6 direct reports. Your technical expertise and ability to effectively engage with key stakeholders within Hong Kong and across the broader Asia Pacific Operations organization will be crucial to your success.

Job responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight on services delivered by our outsourced Transfer Agent vendor in Hong Kong as well as managing various regulatory reporting tasks, product and fund life cycle events, offshored processes, Tax Reporting including Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) and Common Reporting Standard (CRS).
  • Engage in communicating with senior stakeholder and proactive relationship management with internal and/or external parties
  • Influence and drive change incorporating business and client requirement and drive strategic insight and managerial participation with Leadership Teams across Asia Pacific
  • Nurture the team with technical expertise especially in the area of products, operational processes and vendor management and provide timely performance management of the team including goal setting, setting direction and coaching of individual
  • Take a lead role in all service delivery initiatives and provide a strong focus around automation utilizing various tools to enhance operational efficiency
  • Conduct analysis of query trends, root cause analysis and deep dives to improve client experience and remove operational roadblocks
  • Monitor market developments in different markets and understand how regulations impact operational processes and the funds
  • Design, develop and coordinate the oversight and governance framework by updating policies and procedures to comply with local regulations and implementing and monitoring internal controls to ensure compliance
  • Act as a Relationship Manager for our outsourced vendors and ensure close collaboration with our Client Service teams, Trustees, Compliance, Legal and various Internal teams
  • Analyse root-cause of recurring issues through regular review of metrics, assist in developing programmes for service enhancements arising from these reviews, and assist in Fund reviews and ad-hoc global projects implementation across the wider business
  • Review operational processes to identify areas for enhancement and identify and escalate key risks and participate in resolution

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree holder in Business, Accounting, Finance, or other related disciplines
  • At least 10 years’ experience in in financial services industry
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Transfer Agent processes and deliverables
  • Proven high performance track record within operational teams
  • Strong leadership with people management experience
  • Effective communication skills in English
  • Experience in delivering strategic projects with impactful results
  • Ability to demonstrate high risk awareness, operational control, problem solving and process improvement experience
  • Experience working within a fast paced environment where accuracy is critical

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Experience in Asset Management firms will be a plus
  • Strong data management skills will be considered to be an advantage
  • Experience with both local and international asset management firms
