Support the HR Manager UK and the business as appropriate with the implementation of ‘global’ / ‘regional’ and key ‘local’ HR projects and initiatives and strategies across both sites.
Support the HR Manager with delivering on HR and Site KPI’s
Lead on the recruitment and selection for all positions, across both sites (Support with interviews, ensuring managers are clear with aptitude tests, complete offers etc.) promoting the business as an employee of choice
Assist with employee on-boarding, ensuring robust plans are in place for all new hires.
Take responsibility for the short term absence management process, ensure timely meetings and make referrals to Occupational Health
Implementation of HR policies and practices whilst identifying, managing and mitigating people risks from both an employment law and engagement perspective
Take responsibility for providing advice and guidance relating to disciplinary and grievance procedures
Working with the senior leadership team to ensure clear people outcomes that add value and deliver to business objectives
Working with Senior Managers to plan, advise and support implementation of change projects as appropriate
Supporting senior leaders and managers in succession planning, ensuring effective deployment of people and skills needed for the future
Have a full understanding of the WEST payroll system/s and provide cover for payroll in the absence of the HR & Payroll Specialist.
Understanding of the work of business areas, contributing to business objectives with professional and business credibility
Drive continual improvement with forward thinking HR practices and initiatives to underpin a strong HR strategy that aligns to West’s core values
Support with the sourcing and implementation of compensation incentives
Liaising with key stakeholders across the business in the coordination of learning initiatives.
Act as a support for the Apprentices and their Mentor and point of contact for the college
Maintenance and continuous improvement of the HR software systems to include liaison with the relevant software suppliers and corporate IT eg (SAP HC, ADP, WTG, HR Sharepoint etc).
Act in accordance with the Company’s Guiding Principles and adherence to the corporate Code of Conduct.

Education
Minimum Level 3 qualification in a HR related discipline
Bachelor's Degree or Level 5 in relevant business or human resources discipline is a distinct advantage
Work Experience
Minimum 3 years HR experience or equivalent in education required
Experience with HR business systems (i.e. Ultimate, SuccessFactors, SAP HCM) and MS Office applications preferred
