As a, you'll lead the way from conceptual ideas through design and development cycles.
Responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including controls, systems, and manufacturing engineers, to develop concepts and design details for mechanical systems.
- Design parts and assemblies using 3D CAD software such as Creo/SolidWorks, ensuring alignment with industry best practices (GD&T, SEMI, etc.).
- Conduct detailed analyses, including structural, thermal, heat transfer, stress, vibration, and manufacturability assessments.
- Work with vendors to procure prototype materials and assemblies for qualification.
- Generate critical deliverables, including Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), technical specifications, risk analysis, test specifications, and design review presentations.
Must have:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with experience in precision mechanics.
- Proficiency in Creo/SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD modeling tools.
- Hands-on experience with structural, thermal, FEA, and vibration analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong technical presentation abilities.
Nice to have:
- Experience with feedback systems involving high-resolution optical encoders/laser interferometers, linear motors, linear guides, air bearings, etc.
- Design experience with dynamic X,Y sub-micron positioning stages; vibration and modal testing using accelerometers, impact hammers, etc.
- Experience in semiconductor capital equipment design.
- Expertise in designing for ultra-high vacuum, high voltage, and optical environments.
