Your key responsibilities

Demonstrate your passion for tax within our EY Private Tax team, leveraging your 3+ years of experience in Tax or Business Services, coupled with your CA qualification (completed or in progress). You will be central to delivering pragmatic solutions to help our clients solve complex income tax challenges and efficiently manage their tax compliance responsibilities. Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Advising high-net-worth individuals family businesses, and their owners on intricate tax matters, including restructures, capital gains tax, Division 7A, and trust losses.
  • Providing a comprehensive range of tax advisory services to large private owned companies, dealing with complex tax matters including exposure to international tax issues
  • Delivering tax compliance, financial statements, planning, and advisory services for extensive client groups featuring diverse entity types such as trusts, companies, partnerships, and individuals.
  • Providing family advisory services, incorporating succession and estate planning.
  • Engaging with the ATO to facilitate and manage their dealings with our clients, including the Top 500 and Next 5000 programs.
  • Applying your tax expertise across various sectors of the Australian economy.
  • Assist in effectively managing a client portfolio and cultivating strong client relationships.
  • Mentoring junior team members, dedicating time to their professional development.

What we're looking for

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Commerce or Accounting
  • CA qualification (or on the path to completing CA or an equivalent qualification)
  • Minimum 3+ years experience providing Australian tax compliance or business advisory services to corporate entities, high-wealth high-net worth individuals and private family groups
  • Excellent understanding of accounting concepts and experience in preparing financial statements for a variety of entities including trusts and companies
  • Demonstrated ability to research and interpret taxation legislation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound time management skills, and the ability to work to deadlines
  • Ability to delegate to, coach and mentor junior team members
  • The ability to work autonomously, within a team and with our clients
  • Eagerness to learn, develop new skills and to keep up to date with changes in taxation law
