Within Azure Data, the messaging and real-time analytics team provides comprehensive solutions and a robust platform that enables users to ingest high granularity signals (real-time & observability) and complex data, converting those into a advantage in real-time for both end users and modern applications.

We're in search of a Principal Software Engineer to take on projects and lead enhancements to the core technology driving stream processing. We're looking for a hands-on developer with expertise in many aspects of high throughput and multi-tenant services, ability to design components carefully, properly handle errors, write clean and well-factored code with good tests and good maintainability.In this role, you'll have the autonomy to make strategic decisions that shape our product direction and drive significant improvements. Our goal is to simplify the use of real-time analytics at any scale and seamlessly integrate them into end-to-end analytics pipelines, allowing our customers to focus on their business logic without worrying about managing the underlying compute infrastructure.

Qualifications

• ​Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience developing high scale, distributed systems on a cloud platform.
• 3+ years of mentoring and coaching other software engineers.​

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

• ​Demonstrated experience in working with cloud, big data, machine learning, data science, and large-scale distributed systems.
• Familiarity and/or experience with real time data streaming technologies and tools like Azure Stream Analytics, Kafka, Flink and others.
