You will collaborate with internal and external development teams (architecture, hardware, validation, software services). You will establish strategic vision and drive tactical execution in defining and delivering new products and services. AWS Engineers are shaping the way people use computers and designing the future of cloud computing technology – come help us make history!What you will do: You will build and lead a team building large-scale monitoring and real-time telemetry systems for operating an at-scale storage platform, including designing and building automation, tooling and data analytics solutions. You will build and operate scalable storage solutions and associated operational infrastructure to automate monitoring and analysis services. You will work closely with other AWS software teams to tailor and operate storage solutions for the AWS environment.This role is open in Seattle, Cupertino, Austin or Denver.Key job responsibilities
* Work backward from customer input to build and drive product roadmap
* Drive software development for the team, leading design reviews, driving code-reviews, delivering bar-raising software
* Innovate on architecture and drive feature design details, looking to invent and simplify and raise the bar on resilience and scalability
* Drive operational excellence and build operational excellence into product development practices
Mentor and grow the organization to deliver the product roadmap

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 7+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Demonstrated experience building and operating at scale service for monitoring and telemetry using Cloudwatch, Kinesis, DynamoDB, ECS, EKS and Fargate
- Demonstrated experience building automation systems including rule-engines, analytics and knowledge extraction from real-time data streams
- Demonstrated experience with monitoring and operating a large-scale IoT and/or devices/sensors fleet is a definite plus
