AWS Deep Science for Systems and Services (DS3) is looking for world class scientists and engineers to join a team developing and inventing reinforcement learning algorithms and applying them at scale to solve customer problems. At AWS you will invent, implement, and deploy state of the art machine learning algorithms and systems. You will build prototypes and innovate on new representation learning solutions. You will interact closely with our customers and with the academic and research communities. You will be at the heart of a growing and exciting focus area for AWS and work with other acclaimed engineers and world famous scientists.As an Applied Scientist, you will develop novel RL algorithms, optimize deep learning architectures, and work closely with engineering teams to bring research ideas into production. You'll also engage with the academic community through research, and open-source contributions.Our projects span a variety of domains and learning paradigms, including:- Large-scale training and optimization of large models.
- Reinforcement learning to optimize and develop performant code.

- PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience
- 3+ years of building machine learning models for business application experience
- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
- Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning
- PhD in engineering, technology, computer science, machine learning, robotics, operations research, statistics, mathematics or equivalent quantitative field
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch. Knowledge of CUDA is a plus.
