Engineering Manager
Motivated and experienced Road Design Engineer who can utilize his or her strong technical and project management skills to deliver highways-related infrastructure projects. As a Senior member of the high performing team, you will be given the opportunity to lead Functional teams or projects and serve as a best practice/quality resource. You will guide others in resolving complex issues in specialized area based on existing solutions and procedures. By motivating, inspiring, and holding your team to account, you will ensure solution to complex problems and bring in innovative solutions. This role will see you working with multi-discipline engineers and designers in a fast-paced environment whilst supporting a strong pipeline of existing projects, ranging in size and scope, as well as working on several major pursuits to continue the projected growth of our business.
KEY COMPETENCY – Technical Skills
- Understanding of engineering standards (DMRB/AASHTO/Australian/Middle East), codes of practice, local authorities’ guidelines and offer new ideas to improve solutions and processes.
- Lead Functional teams or Projects.
- Able to author competent technical reports of acceptable technical and presentational quality.
- Interprets internal or external business issues and recommends best practices.
- Develop broad technical competence and able to check work of all those in the project team.
KEY COMPETENCY – Soft Skills
- Minimum 10 years of proven highway design experience with software proficiency in Open Roads Designer or Civil3D.
- Proficient in AutoCAD or MicroStation, PDS Signs, PDS Lines, Auto Track, MS Word, and MS Excel.
- Working knowledge of CDE platform (Common Data Environment) i.e., ProjectWise, ACC or BIM360.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Technical competence in detailed highways geometry design using Civil 3D/Open Road Designer and able to independently deliver work and integrate with larger project team.
- Responsible to lead the multi-disciplinary project delivery and able to perform as design manager.
- Clear knowledge of work procedures, and ability to brief project team on them and responsible for completion of projects to time and cost.
- Assists in the leadership of functional teams or projects.
- Communicating with counterpart in lead office/Client and Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams on project delivery.
- Able to realistically estimate pricing associated with projects within their area of expertise.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BE Degree in Civil Engineering/Post-Graduation in Transportation/Highway Engineering.
- Chartered Civil Engineer or equivalent, or currently pursuing professional qualification from a recognized academic institution.
