Your Role and ResponsibilitiesWho you are:- In this position you will be working on Platform Engineering team
What you’ll do:
- Platform engineering refers to the process of designing, building, maintaining the underlying infrastructure and tools necessary to support and enable software development, deployment, and operations at scale.
- The responsibilities of a platform engineer includes (but not limited to):
- Designing and building the underlying infrastructure, such as servers, networks, and storage systems, that support the software applications and services.
- Developing and managing the tools and services necessary for continuous integration, continuous delivery, and deployment automation.
- Defining and implementing the best practices for system configuration, health check monitoring, and performance optimization.
- Ensuring the overall quality, security, compliance, and reliability of the platform.
- Collaborating with software development teams to understand their needs & requirements and providing guidance and support to help them build and deploy their services on the platform.
- Managing the platform’s lifecycle, including installs, upgrades, patching, and retirement

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- 3+ years of professional experience in software development using functional and/or object-oriented programming languages such as Java, Python, typescript/javascript
- Hands-on experience on DevOps tools like Jenkins, GIT, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible etc
- Kubernetes Certification will be an added advantage
- Used Jenkins or similar tools to create CI/CD pipelines.
- Managed Docker Orchestration and Docker Containerization using Kubernetes, Openshift etc
- Expertise in Linux (CentOS, RedHat, Ubuntu etc.)
- Working knowledge of Ansible based install/deployment automation.
- Programming skills using languages such as Java/Python
- Good knowledge in Shell Scripting/Bash, setting up Jenkins pipelines
- Familiarity in integration of heterogenous services in a hybrid environment
- Experience with relational and non relational databases
- Familiarity with IBM Cloud or AWS or Azure is a plus.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Experience with any one modern programming language like NodeJS, Javascript, Python, GO.
- Experience with Source control management (eg Git): to enable teams to work together to manage changes to source code
- Knowledge of any automation testing framework.
- Experience with containers, containers orchestration software, cloud platforms.
- Experience automating infrastructure, testing, and deployments using tools like Jenkins.
