The Compliance RiskOfficer sits within ICRM primary responsibilities include supporting all aspects of the Citi’s Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) compliance program in Bank which will generally consist of monitoring global ESG regulatory developments, partnering with key stakeholders to propose recommendations for business and compliance program enhancement, coordinating with regional subject matter experts on global ESG regulatory implementation, examination preparation and risk mitigation. This is an exciting opportunity to design and build a strong Compliance Program in relation to ESG requirements. The successful candidate will have opportunities to work with senior management across several coverage areas, both regionally and globally, and build on skills such as monitoring, product reviews, policy development, regulatory change management and training development/delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting all aspects of the Citi’s Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) compliance program in Europe which will generally consist of monitoring global ESG regulatory developments, partnering with key stakeholders to propose recommendations for business and compliance program enhancement, coordinating with regional subject matter experts on global ESG regulatory implementation, examination preparation and risk mitigation.

  • Ensure adherence to regulatory governance standards to promote consistency of processes across the organization for all phases of the regulatory interaction lifecycle.

  • Provide expert guidance on product regulations on a real-time basis to manage compliance risk.

  • Stay up to date on relevant changes to rules/regulations and other industry news including regulatory findings.

  • Oversee the monitoring and identification of regulatory developments, including enforcement actions, and new laws, regulations, rules, and interpretations or guidance relating to the supported product.

  • Analyse and scope the impact of new and complex regulatory developments including cross-border impact.

  • Lead initiatives and managing high-impact special project work streams with a results-driven focus to deliver solutions, including coordinating the implementation of new regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree; experience in compliance, legal or other control-related function in the financial services firm, regulatory organization, or legal/consulting firm, or a combination thereof.

  • Knowledge of Compliance laws, rules, regulations, risks and typologies.

  • Experience with evaluating ESG regulatory requirements and supporting implementation processes designed to prepare for new rules.

  • Experience with identifying and mitigating ESG related compliance risks while pro-actively guiding business processes and activities.

  • Supporting review and validating statements in external disclosures for consistency with business representations and regulatory expectations related to ESG.

  • Strong knowledge of global ESG frameworks including UN Principles for Responsible Investment, Taskforce on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures, is preferred.

  • Providing strategic ICRM support and thought leadership in maintaining, evaluating, enhancing and helping to oversee Bank’s ESG compliance program.

  • Participating in the implementation and execution of risk assessments related to ESG.

  • Take initiative in learning and applying new skills and regulations

  • Highly motivated, strong attention to detail, team oriented, organized.

  • Must be a self-starter, flexible, innovative and adaptive.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and with people at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong written and verbal communication.

  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • English and Polish allowing free verbal and written communication.
