Job responsibilities
- Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities
- Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration
- Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements
- Manages stakeholder relationships and the team’s work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements
- Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience
- Experience leading technology projects in Python. Terraform
- Experience AWS Data Services such as AWS Glue, EMR , S3 and integration service Step functions, Event Bridges etc.
- Extensive experience in Spark leveraging PySpark , Python, Scala or R, Java
- Experience using NoSQL databases such as Cassandra, HBase, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Elastic Search
- Experience managing technologists
- Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
- Practical cloud native experience
- Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Development experience using AWS analytics services such as Athena, Redshift , Snowflake , Lake Formation, Quick Sight
- Expertise in Data governance and Data Quality
- Experience with data encryption & key management best practices, especially using AWS KMS
- Experience working with PCI Data is a plus
- AWS Certification is a plus
