What you need to know about the role:This position is for a Senior Test Engineer in the Zettle Unification team. You will be responsible for both building the product and leading the testing efforts to ensure high-quality releases. This role requires a strong focus on automation, backend testing, web testing, collaboration, and continuous improvement.As part of the team, you will:Develop and maintain automated test frameworks to enhance efficiency and scalability.Identify, document, and track defects while ensuring their timely resolution.
Continuously improve test coverage, deployment processes, and CI/CD pipelines.
Perform backend testing, including API testing, database validation, and message queue testing, ensuring data integrity and system reliability.
Conduct web testing to validate UI functionality, responsiveness, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.

Staff Software Engineer, Qualityto drive the entire testing life cycle. The ideal candidate will be responsible for gathering requirements, planning, preparing, and executing test plans while building effective execution strategies like automation frameworks and tools. They will play a key role in designing and implementingend-to-end (E2E) automation solutionsto ensure product quality and efficiency.

  • Ability to understand upstream and downstreamintegrations/integratorsduring testing to seek sign offs and avoiding redundant test effors
  • Provide mentorship and guidance on best practices to team members who are not necessarily QAs but can range from platform specialists to full stack engineers.
  • Actively participate in code reviews, provide suggestions and contribute to process improvements like code coverage metrics

Your day to day

  • Oversee the complete testing lifecycle, including requirement gathering, test planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain automation frameworks for web, API, and mobile testing.
  • Mobile testing & Automation experience is required for this role.
  • Experience in mobile testing and mobile automation frameworks is a plus.
  • Build, maintain, and execute E2E automation test suites for assigned projects.
  • Design and implement robust test automation strategies using industry-standard tools.
  • Utilize source control systems (GIT experience is an advantage).
  • Work with testing frameworks such as TestNG.
  • Use API tools like Postman, Charles proxy and similar applications.
  • Ensure quality assurance (QA) methodologies are followed and continuously improved.
  • Develop and maintain clear, concise documentation.
  • Effectively manage concurrent assignments with different priorities.

What You Need to Bring

  • Bachelor’s degreein computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4-8 yearsof industry experience in End to End (E2E) mobile testing and automation in Android and iOS.
  • Service and UI automation experience acrossmobile applications(Experience with mobile testing using Appium.
  • Experience working with Rest APIs and backend automation using javascript
  • Experience working with REST APIs and backend automation using Selenium and Java ( Java or a similar language proficiency is required).
  • Strong experience withscripting languagessuch as Shell, Python, or Perl (a plus).
  • Good understanding ofQA methodologiesand strong knowledge ofQA automation processes and tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to produce clear, concise documentation.
  • Highly effective at working incross-functional groupsand achieving results inmatrix organizations.
  • Excellent time management skillsand ability to co-ordinate with teams across the globe to meet multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience inIn-Store Payments industryis an added advantage.
