- Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field of study.
- Experience in mechanical design, hands-on trouble shooting, 3D CAD
- Excellent English communication skills: both written and verbal, ability to clearly communicate design ideas and contribute to brainstorms
- At the end of the internship, you must return to school to continue y our education or the internship must be the last requirement for you to graduate.
Preferred Qualifications
It’s helpful if you meet one or more of the following qualifications, but it isn’t a requirement.
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals: solid mechanics, heat transfer, mechanism design; Knowledge of material science fundamentals for plastic, adhesive, metal, glass, composite
- Experience in generating concepts, prototype, and applying engineering testings to validate the concepts
- Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning, and geometric tolerancing
- General knowledge of input device technology (keyboard, trackpad, mouse, haptic modules)
- General knowledge of display technology, acoustics, and interconnect technologies
- Ability to use statistical tools and techniques, with strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work in a team-based environment, to travel to support factory builds
- Ability to be proactive and take initiative, to work on multiple requests/tests at the same time
