WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

  • You will support the expansion and management of NIKE’s EMEA real estate portfolio including supporting the legal aspects of commercial negotiations, negotiating new leases and renewals, land acquisitions and disposals, advising on and negotiating lease amendments, supporting premises closures, giving strategic advice on topics impacting NIKE’s EMEA Real Estate portfolio.
  • You will also support the negotiation of construction and design agreements and support legal issues arising during the construction process.
  • You will support drafting and creating templates and agreements in collaboration with global colleagues and interact with cross-functional legal teams involved with retail and wholesale distribution of products and serving consumers around the world.
  • You will also give strategic advice on innovation in retail space and new and existing business models.
  • You will advise and counsel NIKE business leaders on a wide-range of legal, compliance and process issues associated with NIKE’s global one marketplace strategy and providing analysis of legal risks and you will manage external legal counsel and support with the roll-out and maintenance of deal management systems and processes.

WHAT WILL YOU BRING TO NIKE?

  • University degree in law and at least 5 years post qualification experience in a law firm or in-house
  • Real estate and construction experience, including commercial contract and lease negotiation
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Strong working knowledge of another primary European language would be an asset.
  • Team player and leader who can enhance performance, improve productivity and get results on tight deadlines
  • Bias for action and ability to work independently within a multinational organization
  • Results driven and proven experience leading multiple projects at the same time
  • International experience working in a culturally diverse environment is a plus
  • Sound risk assessment capabilities in rapidly evolving regulated areas
  • Demonstrated ability to learn business requirements quickly, analyze legal and commercial risks, and propose creative, business-oriented solutions
  • Hands on mentality
  • Publicly held, Fortune-500, multi-national company experience preferred
