The role will partner with Finance Controllers to assess complex issues through root cause analysis and other analytical techniques, structure potential solutions and drive to resolution with senior stakeholders.
In this role, you’re expected to:
Average day in role is interacting with senior stakeholders and their teams in to assess complex issues through root cause analysis, structure potential solutions and drive to resolution. Roles responsibilities of the role are listed in the job req, but include:
- Work as trusted advisor to Finance Controllers on formulating actions to mitigate risks and remediate control deficiencies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the end-to-end process, identify risks, and recommend risk management strategies.
- Analyze root cause of control breaks and gaps; provide expert guidance on remediation actions. Identify themes or trends that impact Controllers and drive holistic remediation.
- Drive issue management best practices with stakeholders, including managing sustainability requirements, confirming issue closure evidence and identifying all stakeholders who will participate in issue resolution.
- Monitor and track the progress of corrective action plans. Identify and mitigate roadblocks and escalate any risk to effective and timely delivery.
- Perform Review & Challenge of Finance Controller Issues as required.
- Lead and drive improvements to Quality Control process for Finance Controller Issues, including optimization of Artificial Intelligence Issue Analyzer process. Work closely with Finance Quality Control and Quality Assurance teams as required.
- Review and approve Issues and Corrective Action Plans drafted by Finance Controller and Risk & Control teams.
- Understand the impact of new or revised guidance on Global Issue Management Policy and Global/Finance Issue Management Procedures and support Controllers implementation as needed.
- Manage SOX/SAB99 related Issue Management processes.
As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:
- Bachelor’s Degree required. Master's Degree a plus.
- 10+ years relevant working experience in Risk and Control, Audit, Compliance, Risk Management, Finance, and/or Accounting.
- Understanding of operational risk management.
- In depth knowledge of Finance architecture, systems and processes, as well as the Controller and Business functions, is an advantage.
- Experience in control design and implementation and development and execution of standard operating procedures.
- Ability to gain consensus and influence others across disparate functions, products, and geographies.
- Experience in gap analysis and deficiency remediation.
- Experience working with global teams and generating inputs from diverse Subject Matter Experts is a plus.
- Expertise in summarizing information into concrete processes, flows and/or action plans.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, across organizational levels, functions, and regions.
- Highly analytical, proactive, with strong attention to detail and follow up skills.
- Flexible, team-oriented, with good interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, highly adaptive, and able to work well in a demanding environment.
- Ability to work in close liaison and coordination with business stakeholders and sponsors to elicit, analyze, communicate, plan, manage, validate, and prioritize requirements and build strong professional relationship.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
