About the role:

The Payroll Service Center Analyst I supports the payroll supervisor in all special projects and company initiatives that impact the payroll service center organization. The payroll service center analyst works independently and applies basic customer service, payroll and timekeeping management principles and knowledge to ensure standard operating procedures are followed, compliance to all local legal requirements related to payroll, timekeeping, workforce management, payroll controls and compliance and manages payroll efficiency and accuracy initiatives. Primary responsibilities for this position include responding to employee pay, policy and time management inquires, preparing workforce management employee set up for pay rules and accrual profiles, preparing time files, results validation and confirmation using applied audit principles and designed controls. Develop, manage and implement continuous process improvement initiatives.

Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Monitor, validate and set up employee records in accordance with company policies and procedures in the workforce administration system.
  • Prepare and reconcile accrual liability reports, hours worked and time record files for payroll processing and financial reporting.
  • Respond to and action employee inquiries related to their payroll payments, tax set-ups, payroll deductions, time card, workforce management record, time off balances, payroll policies and other payroll related matters through resolution.
  • Process and prepare payroll data to support business and vendor reporting using established company procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory/SOX and company legislation/policy.
  • Process and prepare reports in relation to the workforce management, and payroll function.
  • To establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports BSC’s Quality Policy, Quality System and the appropriate regulations for the area.
  • Enter any manual data needed to support the payroll process and produce accurate and timely payment to employees in accordance with local labor laws.

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 1-3 years of customer service experience preferred
  • Level desired: Intermediate
  • Preferred Qualifications: UKG Pro, Service Now
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.

Work Environment

The work environment is hybrid 3 days a week in Heredia.
