We are looking for a Software Engineer to join us at an exciting and transformational time. This role provides opportunities to work with the latest evolution of Cisco’s supply chain to Cloud solutions as part of a new team in Portugal. You will work with the brightest minds in one of the world’s leading IT companies and gain experience in a wide range of technologies.

What you will do:

Be coached by world-class leaders who will challenge and mentor you. Join a team consisting of both new graduates and software engineers with years of experience. Increase your professional development whilst meeting the demands of your projects and programs.

Within a small, global agile team:

  • Resolving security support cases for our supply chain factory security landscape, ensuring robust compliance across our factory assets.
  • Playing a pivotal role in the development and system administration team, utilizing the Tanium technology to enhance our factory security landscape.
  • Be a critical part of the Tanium development team by implementing and deploying complex software mechanisms and system administration configurations.
  • Contributing to the creation and maintenance of process documentation, providing excellent customer service to internal customers and partners.
  • Apply software engineering and system administration best practices along with a security first mindset in a scrum team.
  • Maintain and expand knowledge and skills of current and emerging technologies to improve existing Cisco Supply chain applications.
  • Present, share and demonstrate your work to team members and stakeholders.

Requirements:

We are looking for individuals with a passion for technology and problem solving, ideally with solid academic foundations in software engineering disciplines, working towards or having earned a bachelor’s degree (or higher). Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree.

Desirable skills:

  • A passion for – and a commitment to lifelong learning – a willingness and eagerness to invest time in training and developing your skills
  • Proficiency in navigating and administering both Linux and Windows operating systems, with a deep understanding of command-line tools, system diagnostics, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Comfortable with coding and scripting in languages such as Python, Ansible, PowerShell and Bash.
  • Basic networking skills, including TCP/IP setup, subnetting, route tracing, and understanding of firewall/ACL configurations.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • Good written and spoken English proficiency.
  • Familiarity with relational and non-relational database management and operations would be good to have, not mandatory
  • Experience with Supply Chain would be good to have, not mandatory
