Head of Platforms and Data Services - China

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the China Platform and Data Services team which includes Onboarding, Citi’s eBanking platforms (CitiDirect, CitiConnect Host to Host, API), Data & Analytics from product’s perspective.
  • Sets strategic vision with the team and functional partners to encourage creative and strategic thinking from team.
  • Embeds a culture of world-class Product Development, leveraging tools such as Product Launch Framework and ensures that ongoing product innovation and development meets strategic and financial objectives.
  • Develops 3–5-year product strategy and execution roadmap with a transformational change plan and manage investment prioritization in China for Platform and Data Services.
  • Drives customer segmentation, product positioning, pricing, and marketing plans for each client segment. Explores products / propositions addressing clients’ end to end needs, including services with respect to pre and post onboarding.
  • Execute the strategic digital roadmap in a cross functional setting and drive excellency in client experience (as evidenced in client feedback) through product enhancements and process reengineering.
  • Be the voice of customers, ensuring client, country / cluster feedback is thematically baked into the global product roadmap, strategy, and design, enabling best-in-class client experience.
  • Steer the direction of strategic initiatives and commercialize Citi's Platforms and Data services products for China markets
  • Lead the marketing campaigns to launch Digital capabilities and drive adoption across China user base, together with Sales, Banking and Service partners.
  • Partner closely with regional product managers, country product managers and functional partners, including Technology, Testing, Marketing, Legal, Compliance, other Product organization, Channel Readiness, Client Operation, Activation and Implementation to ensure buy-in on strategies and approach, and to deliver on time, high quality product
  • Keep abreast of the current market and industry trends, defines strategic opportunities for and drive potential partnerships/alliances with Fin-tech partners for last mile connectivity and conductivity.
  • Design and manage product communications including external and internal feature announcement, reference materials, press release, and adoption campaigns, in partnership with marketing & countries.
  • Work closely with compliance and legal partners to rollout new products in accordance with local regulations, laws & guidelines.
  • Be the ambassador of our products, proactively promoting our brand awareness both internally and externally through various channels.
  • Drive data product rollout in China markets, in collaboration with regional and global data partners and TTS business stakeholders.
  • Define, develop, and execute AI/ML use cases in partnership with global analytics team that are aligned with TTS business priorities and strategies.
  • Develops products with attractive and sustainable P&Ls (Revenue, Expense, Net Income Plan and Operating Efficiency) and analyzes product profitability, competition and positioning in the market and proactively drive initiatives to maintain Citi’s leadership position.
  • Establish a dynamic management and communication process between regional product management team and country/cluster partners with clear roles & responsibilities and ensures alignment between Product team and functional partners (such as Operations, Technology, TTS Sales, Finance, Legal, In Business Risk, Independent Risk, Compliance/AML, Sanctions Compliance and other)
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
  • Attract, motivate, and retain top talent. Focus on building bench strength. Create a high performing team through strong leadership skills and practices. Establish and maintain optimal organizational and headcount structure and reporting relationships for accomplishment of product group’s financial and strategic objectives.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years’ experience with 5+ years’ relevant product management experience as a head, preferably with a background in banking products.
  • Experience working with external clients. Previous experience in Client Service operations a plus
  • Excellent verbal, digital, and written communication skills. Strong presentation skills.
  • Proven experience launching products to market.
  • Experience in successful implementation of large, customer experience projects while managing cross functional stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to self-direct work efforts, meet deadlines, and produce consistent high quality work.
  • Passion for the customer and their experience.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing in a large and complex business
