As the Chief Accountant, you will lead and develop a dedicated team of 9 finance professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement to drive the financial integrity and strategic financial planning of our organization.

Your key responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements in compliance with local GAAP and IFRS.
• Ensure timely submission of financial reports and declarations to regulatory authorities.
• Maintain a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results.

• Manage the accounting operations including the review of journal entries, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and statutory reporting.
• Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure the highest level of efficiency and transparency.

• Oversee tax planning and compliance with all tax laws and regulations in Romania.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors as necessary.

• Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit.
• Ensure that internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws for financial and tax reporting.

• Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
• Work with senior management to integrate the accounting department with other departments.

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Nice to have ACCA / CAFR / CECCAR
• Significant experience in accounting, finance, or a related field, with a preference for experience in a leadership role.
• Experience with big accounting firms or multinational companies is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of Romanian accounting standards and IFRS.
• Proficiency in accounting software ( SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite.
