  • Job Responsibilities

  • Privacy Advice : Provide privacy input and advice on personal information handling activities focusing on human resource data for Sony group companies in China, identify areas for improvement, and make recommendations from Sony group privacy policies and applicable Chinese laws and regulations, in particular PIPL.
  • Contract Review: Draft, review, negotiate and revise privacy related clauses or contracts to be entered into with third-party vendors.
  • Privacy Impact Assessment : Conduct, via OneTrust system, Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) for personal information handling activities in accordance with Sony group privacy policies and PIPL.
  • Personal Information Inventory : Support stakeholders to review, update and maintain inventories of Personal Information and associated systems and repositories.
  • Personal Information Protection Compliance Audit: Conduct personal information protection audit for Sony group companies in China to analyze privacy risks and vulnerabilities and to identify areas that require improvement from PIPL compliance perspective.
  • Privacy Awareness Training and Messaging: Conduct regular and ad-hoc privacy awareness trainings and messaging to raise awareness among management and employees of personal information protection to foster the corporate culture that respects privacy.
  • Regulation Monitoring and Updates: Follow up on the trends of Chinese privacy-related legislative and regulatory developments as well as enforcement efforts and make update reports to the internal privacy community in a timely manner.
  • Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above, majoring in law.
  • 3-5 years of experience in privacy protection.
  • Experience conducting privacy impact assessments is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in working matters associated with compliance with Personal Information Protection Law, Cyber Security Law, Data Security Law, mobile App privacy requirements, Cross-Border Data Transfer are strongly preferred.
  • Experience in retail industry, e-commerce, or digital marketing is preferred.
  • Familiar with privacy tools such as OneTrust is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and advocacy skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to express complex and technical issues as understandable language with related stakeholders.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively and tactfully with various other function teams including legal & compliance, information security and IS staffs.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, with a strong ability to prioritize multiple tasks and respond to emergencies.
  • Willingness to travel domestically as required, up to 20%.
  • Be eligible to work in Shanghai.
  • Fluent in Mandarin and English while having a good command of the Japanese language is desirable.
