Your Career
As a Presales Engineer, you'll provide technical expertise and guidance to service providers, telcos, and MSS organizations. You will play a key role in demonstrating the value of our technical solutions which enable the customer's objectives. You'll advance our leadership in the areas of network, cloud, and endpoint security. As a trusted advisor to prospective customers, you'll further Palo Alto Networks' position as their cybersecurity partner of choice.
Your Impact
Technical aptitude and customer focus are core to the Presales Engineering role. You'll see complex problems as opportunities to learn and deliver innovative solutions. No two days will be the same, but you'll define your impact by:
- Partnering with large SP, telcos, and MSSP to secure both their and customers’ networks, cloud, and endpoints with Palo Alto Networks technology
- Building and implementing strategic, technical account plans that target cross-platform solutions
- Conducting discovery to understand and articulate the key technical, operational, and commercial imperatives of your prospects and customers
- Planning and building compelling technical and business-focused solutions that drive adoption and growth after the initial sale and across the portfolio
- Demonstrating strong communication skills and the ability to influence through effective presentations and customer-specific demos, technical engagements, and workshops
- Orchestrating supporting resources to ensure a one-team approach that demonstrates a cohesive strategy
- Promoting end-to-end solutions such as Professional Services to ensure customers realize business value sooner
- Understanding the competitive landscape and effectively differentiating our solutions
- Continuously investing in yourself to develop technical and professional skills by actively participating within the community and at industry events
Your Experience
- Understanding of data networking (L3 and L2 networking, transport technology, and routing protocols) is a must
- Knowledge of telcos, carriers and service providers (5G, MPLS, SDWAN), cyber security technology, and automation is preferable
- Ability to influence and gain buy-in from key stakeholders, either in a customer-facing or internal role (experience in a pre-sales role is preferred)
- Ability to create and deliver technical presentations, workshops, technical validation engagements, and proof-of-concepts/proof-of-value
- Ability to partner with Customer Support functions to ensure successful implementation and adoption of solutions
- Experience working with large enterprise organizations
- Consultative selling skills
