EMEIA FSO Supervising Associate
FSO EMEIA is one of the largest Regions at EY. It is now a 3.3bn business with approx. 16 000 FTE and more than 700 partners. The Region has more than doubled since the creation of FSO 15 years.
FSO EMEIA is going through significant changes and challenges (growth ambition (+7% in FY24), service delivery model transformation, inflation, profitability, market demand slowing down, etc). and the demand for financial analysis, expertise and insights has therefore largely increased.
Your key responsibilities
- Assisting EMEIA FSO TAX Finance Lead in providing insights to the business. It includes weekly and monthly performance reviews, Strategic and Financial planning processes, business modelling, P&L performance and ad hoc analysis, deck and dashboard creation.
- Responding to requests from Finance and SL Leadership to answer specific ad hoc financial questions and provide insightful information to advance leadership discussion and decision making. Support the design and delivery of ad hoc financial analysis.
- Analyze and present complex financial data in a way that is easily understandable. Develop and support the delivery of communications/presentations that effectively engage audiences, responding to key business issues and recommended solutions. Identify trends and issues that need to be analyzed and understood in clear and visualized form.
- Ability to model projections and forward look view, identify trends and issues that need to be analyzed and understood.
- Taking part and leading planning/forecasting processes. Support the completion on time of the various planning cycles, ensuring outputs align to the objectives set at the Regional, Area and Global levels.
- Taking part in improvement projects re. margin improvement, backlog quality.
- Act as counsellor and coach to less experienced professionals as required, supporting development and demonstration of Trusted Business Advisor competencies of the team.
Skills and attributes for success
- Ability to work in a virtual global organization respecting international cultures
- A strong understanding of corporate financial management with concentration in financial planning and analysis is required
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze problems, design and implement solutions independently
- Highly team oriented approach, with flexibility regarding tasks undertaken and the ability to prioritize a number of conflicting demands to meet deadlines
- Credibility and confidence to challenge and propose better ways of doing things as well as build bridges and harmonize divergent interests and priorities
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal; excellent presentation and client advisory skill
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of tools, predominantly Excel and PowerPoint
- Power BI and/or other data visualization tool experience to support ad hoc analysis and build regular reports is an advantage
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Graduate and/or professional certification in a business related subject matter (i.e. Accounting, Finance)
- 6+ years of experience in finance/business roles with at least 3 years of supervisory, analytical, forecasting and budgeting experience
- Very good spoken and written English
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Able to demonstrate initiative in approach to problem solving
