Engages with and reaches out to customers proactively and independently. Uses knowledge of customer context, solution or portfolio expertise, and technical and industry knowledge to build credibility with customers. Leads and ensures technical wins for core and adjacent technologies by leading technical discussions with customers and establishing rules of engagement. Leverages foundational knowledge of resources. Engages in partner sell-with scenarios by acting as liaison between the partner and team and facilitating partner resources and processes throughout the course of the project. Supports partner technical capacity by identifying skill and resource gaps and providing feedback to internal teams. Captures core competitive knowledge and delivers back to product and engineering teams to enhance team capabilities and develop compete strategies for assigned customers. Provides strategic, technical, and partner input based on Microsoft capability at the account level to contribute to strategy development, leveraging partner, competitor, or open-source knowledge.

Required/minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 4+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience OR 5+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience OR equivalent experience.
  • Advanced English level
  • Proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • 1+ years of software design and development experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills,independenttroubleshooting skills,great teamwork, and most importantly, passion to delight users.
  • 3+ years of software design and development experience in Web/Apps and Cloud services.
  • Familiarity with one or more Linux distros and technical understanding of at least one of the following areas: Operating System/Virtualization or Networking.
  • LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PhP or Python)
  • Familiarity with core OS services such as: SSH, telnet, FTP, NFS, DNS, DHCP, Samba, LDAP
  • Familiarity with LDAP, Security, OS Internals concept
  • Understanding of Virtualization concepts and virtual system administration
  • Experience with Hyper-V, VMWare, Xen configuration and administration
  • Cloud experience strongly preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science OR related technical field AND 1+ year(s) technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of software design and development experience in Web and Cloud services.
  • Extensive experience in Azure Service.
  • Extensive experience in react.js development.
  • Extensive experience in running andmaintaininglarge-scaleweb services.
  • Extensive experience in Microsoft technology stack.
Responsibilities

The responsibilities of Technology Specialists apps include a range of technical and strategic roles aimed at helping customers understand and leverage Microsoft solutions and cloud services. Here are some key responsibilities based on the documents and communications:

  • Technology Specialist is responsible for winning customers' technical decisions to buy and use Microsoft solutions and cloud services. They are technical lead generators, engaging with their known customer technical contacts to identify leads for sellers. They position technology requirements to customers for deployment/usage and are product specialists but solution-oriented.

  • They work within virtual teams of technical, partner, and consulting resources to educate customers at a technical level, demonstrate and prove solutions, and win the technical decision. This role requires maintaining and developing deep technical expertise across Microsoft and non-Microsoft cloud-based technologies such as Containers, DevOps, Software Development Lifecycle, etc.

  • The role is also at the forefront of cloud-native architecture, designing systems that leverage the unique capabilities of the cloud, such as scalability, automation, and cost efficiency.

  • In terms of skilling and learning, there are events like the App Innovation + Data & AI Tech Talk, which are targeted at Technology Specialists. These events cover topics such as Scenario Based Architecture, Solution Accelerators, Customer Use cases, and more, aligned with the main pillars of the Build & Modernize AI Apps solution play.

  • Winning Technical Decisions : Technology Specialists are tasked with owning and winning the technical decision of customers to trust and use Microsoft's cloud services, particularly Azure. They engage with customer technical contacts to identify leads and position technology requirements for deployment and usage.

  • Solution Design & Proof : They demonstrate and prove Microsoft solutions, present architecture patterns, and ensure integration into the customer environment. This includes coaching teams in addressing customer digital transformation and leveraging insights to align technology with customer business intelligence needs.

  • Maintaining Expertise : Maintaining and developing deep technical expertise across Microsoft and non-Microsoft cloud-based technologies is crucial. This includes areas such as Containers, DevOps, Software Development Lifecycle, and more.

  • Skilling and Learning : Technology Specialists are encouraged to participate in events and learning modules to enhance their skills. Topics covered include Scenario Based Architecture, Solution Accelerators, Customer Use cases, AI Fundamentals, and effective customer conversation strategies.

  • Strategy Development : They contribute to strategy development for business intelligence and data-driven decision-making, shaping strategic win plans, and tailoring Microsoft messaging for opportunities like Power BI.

  • Scaling Customer Engagements : Specialists work to scale customer engagements with Microsoft solutions, ensuring that the full value of Microsoft's offerings, such as Azure Cosmos DB and Azure AI Services, is communicated and leveraged by customers.
