As a mechanical engineer on the team, you will play a key role in specifying, developing, characterizing, and validating the mechanical design of optical sensing systems.
- Hands-on experience designing for a production environment.
- Experienced in vendor engagement and technical project management.
- 3D CAD experience and proficiency in GD&T and tolerance analyses.
- Application of statistical tools and techniques (Matlab, Python, JMP, etc).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to craft clear engineering documentation (2D drawings, standard operating procedures, product specifications).
- Able to effectively collaborate with diverse team members and external vendors to define and achieve project goals.
- Interest, curiosity and motivation to learn and apply new engineering concepts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related fields with 3+ years relevant proven experience
- High volume, consumer electronics, or optical sensing experience.
- Practical experience with optical modules, packaging techniques, and optoelectronic components.
- Hands-on experience in designing precision optical fixtures and developing rapid prototypes.
- Applied knowledge in flex circuits, printed circuit boards, material science, and basic chemistry.
- Experience with JMP, MATLAB, scripting, and data analysis.
- Graduate/Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related fields
