Resources Sector
will primarily work on-site during construction, representing Jacobs as the Engineer’s Representative. In this role, you’ll be the engineering design consultants site representative as primary contact for technical queries from multi-disciplinary construction contractors during project execution for our resource clients. Collaborating with Project Managers and Discipline Engineers, your focus will be on ensuring technical queries are resolved expediently so projects remain on time and meet quality and safety standards without compromising design intent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Jacobs design team to provide timely responses to technical queries and site clarification requests whilst ensuring design intent is not compromised.
- Collaboration with Contractors:Work closely with construction contractors (not Jacobs) to ensure timely project completion in full compliance with design intent.
- Multi-Disciplinary Experience:Leverage your expertise in civil/structural and mechanical disciplines.
- Mining Infrastructure Projects:Apply your experience to both non-process and process infrastructure projects, with a special emphasis on Sustaining Capital projects.
- Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC):Manage and approve installations at pre-approved witness and hold points.
- Design Compliance:Work closely with Project Managers and Discipline Engineers to ensure construction contractors adhere to design requirements.
- Technical Issue Management:Direct technical issues and queries to the relevant discipline engineer.
- Collaboration with Virtual Teams:Successfully interface with Jacobs’ virtual teaming groups.
- Client Relationship Building:Attend key client meetings to understand and develop relationships, aiming to become a trusted advisor in the sector.
- Balancing Scope and Time:Meet deliverables while effectively allocating time.
- Mentoring Junior Resources:Facilitate the technical development of junior team members to meet market requirements.
- Preferably hold an engineering qualification.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully managing construction projects in the Resources Sector.
- Familiarity with international and local engineering and construction methods, applicable codes, and specifications related to resources projects.
- Project Lifecycle Experience: Understand planning, design, commissioning processes, construction methods, and interface requirements for multi-disciplinary projects.
- Sound knowledge of current construction and QA/QC standards.
- Strong communication skills.
- Flexibility: Ability to work away on FIFO (fly-in, fly-out) rosters.
- Section 26 Supervisor Accreditation: Previous accreditation as a Section 26 supervisor is preferable but not essential.
