Minimum qualifications:
- 15 years of experience in legal practice and engaging with Japan’s legal and regulatory institutions.
- 15 years of experience leading, developing, and managing full-service legal teams including litigation, commercial, and product work.
- 15 years of experience in navigating matrixed organizations headquartered in the US.
- Executive experience managing both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to communicate in English and Japanese fluently to support local relationship management.
Preferred qualifications:
- Strong business acumen, passion for technology and innovation, and familiarity with the tech industry.
- Ability to analyze and solve complex problems including under pressure and in unprecedented scenarios, and distilling complex situations and facts in order to get to the essence of an issue and drive for pragmatic solutions.
- Strong people management skills, with a focus on creating a culture of excellence, collaboration, and respect.
- Adept at navigating multicultural organizations and bridging cultural differences between Japan and western markets.
