The Asset Services department is an integral part of Securities Services and has responsibility for the processing of Corporate Actions, Income, Event Capture and Proxy events. It is one of the highest risk areas within operations.
This exciting role is to execute a globally consistent framework for the newly created OTE (Oversight, Training & Execution) structure with direct people management responsibilities and executing the functions strategy. Ensuring a strong control and oversight framework is in place, monitoring through key data metrics, driving processing risk reduction whilst enhancing client experience.
The role requires the Head to have a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within Asset Services and how they interact to achieve the objectives of the function. Strong senior Asset Services expertise as well as strong commercial awareness is a necessity for the role. Excellent communication skills are required to negotiate internally and externally, at a senior level.
Organizational Oversight:
- Key lead for executing the Asset Services OTE (Oversight, Training, Execution) function in line with the Custody target operating model
- Timely execution of the function’s strategy in partnership with Product and Technology, demonstrating ongoing tangible improvements
- Drive solutions and track progress towards client satisfaction and service levels to ensure best in class service, establishing an operations framework to identify themes, remediation plans and track performance
- Partner with regional/global peers, Product, technology and client to achieve global consistency in framework execution
- Monitor and review trends via KRI’s, KPI’s and metric analysis, implementing corrective action plans
- Deliver high quality, consistent and meaningful executive reporting and analytics to identify trends and themes for senior management and stakeholders
- Create a training framework for new and existing employees relevant to the function
- Collaborate with technology and regional partners to execute strategic roadmap, as well as driving legacy changes to reduce immediate MTPs’ and risk scenarios
- Manage and contribute to location strategy and productivity targets
- Hire, develop and reward staff based upon meritocracy and promote collaboration and diversity. Identify and develop high performers.
- Supports a wide range of internal clients (product, sales, client delivery, and technology) and external corporate clients
- Contributes to budget and manages distribution and exceptions
- Manage any self-raised CAPS, perform process reviews, identifying any gaps and implementing controls and/or process to deliver Global consistency.
People & Culture Agenda:
- Implement a successful People and Engagement strategy to help attract, develop, retain, and recognize a diverse and talented global workforce
- Lead and co-ordinate change following VOE results
- Responsible for the development of talent and a succession pipeline for all roles and levels.
- Evaluates subordinates' performance and makes recommendations for pay increases, hiring, terminations and other personnel actions

What we’ll need from you:
- Senior Asset Services Leadership experience in a related role with commensurate experience in people management
- Experience in delivering strategic change programs ideally in Operations
- Being energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a leader who can positively and productively add product impact to both strategic and tactical technology.
- Ability to exhibit strong and influential communication skills with a senior level audience (internally/externally)
- Strong risk management and control mindset. Ability to provide evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated, unique and dynamic situations; draws on diverse range of internal and external sources
- Self-reliant, good problem solver, results oriented
- Experience in leading people and developing effective and diverse teams. Ability to establish and build trust with professionals throughout the business with a clear client orientation
