Essential Functions of the Job:
- Develop strong relationships with key internal customer groups/stakeholders, including: Global Service Line Talent teams, Area Talent Leaders and Region Talent teams (as allocated by Global Talent Function Leader)
- Partner with key stakeholder groups to capture and assess issues/opportunities to be addressed by the Talent Development and ensure these are effectively communicated to function colleagues, involving specialist colleagues where required
- As required, represent Talent Development with key stakeholders and at key leadership forums (e.g. AOE, ATEC)
- Build strong connections and relationships with Region Talent teams in an Area. Ensure strong connections via robust networks between the Talent Executive function and Regions Talent teams to support effective communication and knowledge sharing
- Input to the development of Talent Development strategy, service standards and design to ensure services and solutions are meeting needs of the allocated customer group. Ensure TD strategy, roadmap and key change initiatives are communicated to key stakeholders
- Build strong knowledge of ‘on the ground’ service delivery challenges/opportunities and share with colleagues.
- Work with account stakeholders to support/optimise service delivery locally and to resolve performance challenges and/or share best practices. Facilitate access to Talent function specialists as needed to resolve issues and provide insights
- Manage challenging conversations with account stakeholders and coach Global COI colleagues in communicating to specific groups / networks proposed new (or changes to existing) services, frameworks, toolkits or technology
- Where required, act as an SMR on talent projects/initiatives to ensure the effective design of new or improved solutions. Work closely with members of the project team to optimise solutions and performance outcomes
- Enable effective change implementation planning with key stakeholders (e.g. ATLs/RTLs) and to prepare for change
Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:
- Leverage business insights to provide input to the development of Talent function strategy, roadmap and service design
- Build and maintain effective relationships with agreed ‘account’ stakeholders, creating pro-active networks and enabling seamless communication between Talent Executive team and Region talent teams, and others in the Talent ecosystem
- Analyze and assess performance challenges with client accounts and work to resolve these with Talent colleagues
- Review and clarify customer account requirements and priorities and ensure these are addressed by function services, policies and tools
- Facilitate account stakeholder input to development of business cases as required
- Assess where most impactful business benefits may be gained by focusing on specific aspects of COI strategy and roadmap, facilitate discussions between account stakeholders and COI leaders
- Collate performance metrics relating to COI services from across account and provide progress reports for the COI leadership team and account stakeholders
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
- Extensive relationship management skills – ability to influence a wide range of seniority across multiple geographies/ business units
- Strong ability to build and nurture effective virtual networks across diverse and dispersed geographies
- Strong business acumen – ability to focus on priorities of greatest value and interpret those for COI colleagues
- Broad knowledge of COI strategies, trends, leading practices, services and solutions
- Proactive consulting skills that drive business impact; able to interpret business requirements and, where prioritized,facilitate the co-creation of relevant & pragmatic approaches
- Strong teaming skills; collaborate effectively across talent ecosystem and wider EY firm
- Strong facilitation skills – ability to bring together diverse groups to collaborate on design thinking and prioritisation
- Strong coaching skills – ability to engage others to implement specialism solutions / services to common global standards
- Respected ability to cope with ambiguity; to drive change and performance outcomes in a complex and agile environment
Supervision Responsibilities:
- A key member of the Global COI leadership team. Proactively participate in meetings, collaborate with core and extended teams to ensure effective execution of Talent strategy and roadmap, drive quality and performance standards
- Receive regular supervision from Global COI Leader to review priorities, performance, and development opportunities
- Lead & facilitate COI networks to communicate changes to strategy or solutions, share best practices and capture needs across the firm; ensuring regular meetings / calls supported by multiple communication channels
- Influence and coach Executive and Region Talent Leaders to apply the Global COI strategy and standards at the local level
- In relation to initiatives delivered by the Talent Portfolio team (as allocated): as project sponsor or member of project leadership team provide leadership decisions to project manager and team on approach, plan and progress; as design authority member or SMR, provide expert input on design, development and deployment
- Independently maintain and leverage (when appropriate) an internal network, including effective partnerships with senior stakeholders, across EY practices/departments that will enable personal effectiveness in the position
Job Requirements:
- Education:
- Educated to degree level
- Higher professional or masters qualification is preferred, not required
- Experience:
- Significant experience in a closely related role; demonstrable understanding of the interplay of different dynamics involved in managing a globally dispersed and diversely skilled business
- Demonstrable experience of managing effective relationships with key stakeholders in a wide range of business units, functions and partner organizations
- Demonstrable experience of influencing and coaching senior stakeholders in decision-making, execution of services and change implementation in global, matrix organizations (such as EY)
- Demonstrable experience of successful communication of strategic priorities on a global level and/or to a dispersed client base. Ideally with experience across both emerging and developed markets
- Demonstrable experience of building, nurturing, facilitating effective networks to share best practices, design thinking, problem solving
- Other Requirements:
- Due to global nature of the role; travel and willingness to work alternative hours will be required
- Due to global nature of the role; English language skills - excellent written and verbal communication will be required
- Demonstrable experience of collaborating with talent colleagues in interpreting business requirements and shaping proposed solutions; participating in global virtual teams to enhance services, frameworks, processes and standards in COI (or similar)
- Demonstrable experience of working in fast-paced, ambiguous, stressful environments to deliver required results
- Certification Requirements:
- Higher professional or masters qualification in a related discipline is preferred, not required
- Active membership in related professional bodies or industry groups is preferred, not required
