What you'll do
As a DevOps Engineer overseeing NetApp Enterprise storage, and Ceph infrastructure, the responsibilities would include:
- As a team member, you will have an operational engineering role responsible for managing storage environments used for several external and internal cloud solutions and delivering to meet expectations.
- Regularly maintain and update NetApp Enterprise storage systems to ensure high performance, capacity, and security.
- Configuring and optimizing Ceph storage infrastructure for peak performance.
- Handling storage provisioning and development within the Ceph and enterprise storage environments.
- Troubleshooting and resolving any issues related to performance or reliability across all the storage systems.
- Drive continuous improvement of the Ops services in terms of process design, tool advancement, better operational efficiency, reduced TCO, support quality, and enhanced customer satisfaction
- Collaborating with other IT teams to ensure efficient integration of the storage systems with other infrastructures.
- Using DevOps practices to automate recurring storage administration tasks.
- Develop, implement, and optimize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) processes, adhering to best practices for IaC development.
- Documenting system changes or updates and providing training to other team members.
- Staying abreast of industry trends to introduce relevant features or advancements in the organization's storage systems
- Provide on-call support to resolve operational issues.
What you bring
The ideal candidate for this role would possess the following qualifications and characteristics:
- Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree or display evidence of equivalent education.
- Demonstrate a customer-driven, self-motivated, and positive working attitude.
- Possess a desire to work in a dynamic context, continuously collecting and imparting knowledge and refining procedures.
- Have a minimum of 3 years of expertise in Storage and IT customer-facing roles.
- Demonstrate knowledge of storage concepts and designs, specifically with NetApp Storages.
- Show familiarity with Ceph or Openstack solutions in managing and operating an object storage footprint.
- Display a broad understanding of IT processes and best practices, particularly in areas like backup/recovery, NAS/SAN, and object technologies.
- Be prepared to be part of a team, supporting Enterprise SAN, NAS, and Object infrastructure through the planning of design, tiering, installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Exhibit rapid and independent learning capabilities, possessing strong interpersonal, organizational, self-motivation, project management, analytical, and customer service skills.
- Demonstrate a good understanding of the DevOps framework, tools such as Github, Jenkins, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Jira, and Prometheus, as well as Agile methodologies and experience in an Agile environment.
- Have experience in managing Kubernetes clusters, ensuring their high availability and overall health.
- Be able to utilize scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or GOlang to automate repetitive tasks and improve workflows.
- know about Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Knowledge of OpenStack, backup, and recovery solutions is an advantage.
- Must be willing to work onsite in Monterrey, Mexico. Local candidates are highly preferred.
