Description

  • The Financial Institutions (FI) Head of FX Sales is primarily responsible for defining and implementing our FX Strategy across JANA and Asia South.
  • The FI Head of FX Sales will manage a team of around 50 FX sales people, spread across the JANA and Asia South clusters. This team is primarily focused on transactional FX but will also originate and execute episodic FX transactions in more complex derivative products.
  • The mandate of this team is to originate and execute FX with FI clients across all segments, working in coordination and partnership with markets RM’s and banking.
  • This team will also work in partnership with Securities Services and TTS product and sales teams to ensure we are capturing the full value of Citi’s network and delivering integrated solutions to our clients.
  • The role is responsible for executing regional and global initiatives to foster revenue growth, increase wallet share and enhance efficiency throughout the various client segments
  • The ideal candidate should have proven success in Sales and demonstrate a successful track record of leadership with sales teams and clients.
  • The role requires a strong analytical approach to client management and strategy together with the leadership skills necessary to execute uniformly across the complexities of a large regional mandate.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Develop a coordinated cluster wide strategy across the multiple FX product lines while focusing on profitability and return.
  • Achieve ambitious goals in both market and wallet share from the FI client franchise.
  • Articulate a clear strategy to grow business and client footprint in FX.
  • Ensure optimum Human Resource and Capital allocation to growth the business in an efficient manner.
  • Focus on technology and innovation; driving a data driven sales culture.
  • Work with FX Trading partners and FX product and technology to deliver new products and solutions.
  • Build partnerships with Banking, TTS and Security Services, as well as other Markets products to effectively leverage on our global organization to cross sell FX products.
  • Ensure that the team is up to date on latest product developments and facilitate success transfers from one region to another.
  • Work closely with Banking, not only to leverage relationships but also ensure FX is integral to ongoing client dialogues.
  • Work with risk, legal, and other relevant partners to ensure transactions are structured robustly and relevant risks are identified and covered.
  • Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance in order to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure.
  • Leverage internal relationships and work together with other Product Sales heads in order to capture the cross regional flows and opportunities and deliver what is best for Citi’s clients.
  • Supervisory oversight and evidencing of such including but not limited to adherence to all relevant policies.
  • Ensure team is well-trained on all internal policies and regulatory matters.
  • Build a culture of responsible ethics and finance.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications

  • Broad, extensive experience in leading large groups of sales individuals in Markets businesses
  • Proven track record in leading large-scale cross-ICG business initiatives (e.g. Banking, Security Services, TTS),
  • Deep understanding of Global Markets Products, including electronic platforms and risk management
  • Track record in identifying latent client needs and working with partners to deliver appropriate solutions.
  • Deep understanding and experience of dealing with Regulatory requirements and their impact across markets / legal entities Citi operates in
  • Ability to manage remote teams across geographies with varied skills and job descriptions.
  • Ability to judge and balance risk and rewards in transactions. Ability to look at risk holistically and not only on measures such as Credit / Market Risk
  • Ability to work with partners and influencing skills.
  • Working under high pressure situations with short time constraints
  • Strong interpersonal, networking, cultural and communication skills
  • High motivation, energy, tenacity and longevity to drive the business and deliver growth.
  • Successful understanding and proven leadership of geographically diverse and heavily matrixed product organizations.
  • Strong intellectual grasp of the industry and with the ability to anticipate and lead the organizational response to future changes.
  • Ability to translate vision into executable plans.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Superior problem-solving skills; pragmatic approach to ensure limited resources are directed appropriately
