Mentor, develop and lead a team of process engineers at Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg focused on manufacturing of Drive Units
Lead optimization of production processes to ensure safety and quality while maximizing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) in cost effective means to achieve world-class performance levels
Own, report on and drive improvement of area KPI’s including equipment availability, product yield, cycle time and cost
Manage the strategy and deployment of improvement projects with a focus on Safety, People, Accuracy, Rate and Cost
Coach and assist engineers and technicians in resolving unplanned down events and driving permanent RCCAs, using the 3D/8D process or Lean Six Sigma where applicable
Make daily resource allocation decisions, balancing competing priorities, to support the engineering, maintenance, manufacturing, and production teams
Serve as backup Engineer for all members of the team both to ensure zero gaps in coverage as well as adequately address issues of escalating complexity
Foster collaboration among cross functional teams to develop, install and deploy new processes, and equipment
Able to utilize structured problem solving techniques such as DMAIC, Ishikawa, Five Why (5W) or Eight Disciplines (8D)
Knowledge of Statistical Process Controls and it's application
What You’ll Bring
Degree in an Engineering discipline, or equivalent in experience
Experience leading teams within heavily automated, high volume manufacturing facilities, including but not limited to assembly, robotics, etc.
Exemplary track record of high impact contributions both as an individual engineer and in a management capacity
Hands on experience with lean manufacturing principles
Demonstrated ability to meet commitments and deliver results in a fast-paced, automated, and semi-automated manufacturing environment
Ability to manage and execute multiple large-scale projects simultaneously, dynamically adjusting priorities to meet changing business needs
Outstanding communication skills - both written and verbal
Experience with application and teaching of structured problem-solving methodology, such as DOE, Lean Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, etc.
Experience with mechanical, automation, robotics, and controls engineering is highly preferred. Understanding of equipment component behavior is a plus
