Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years technical support, technical consulting experience, or information technology experience
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), or related field AND 3+ years technical support, technical consulting experience, or information technology experience.
  • 5+ years technical support on Windows OS, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing systems unable to start Windows, with CPE issues, memory management, Windows Shell configuration and management.
  • Proficient knowledge and experience with WPR, Perfmon, Logman, Windows Event logs, and Sysinternals, with knowledge of methods like application and system hang/crash.
  • Proficient knowledge in Windows internals/architecture and Windows System Administration/Configuration.
  • Business level fluency to read, write and speak English.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and / or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire / transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science IT or related field experience.
  • Ability to analyze memory dumps to identify performance issues such as CPU bottlenecks, memory depletion, process crashes, and system-level failures and experience with tools such as XPERF, WPR, Procmon, Handle.exe, Logparser, Procdump.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows Boot stages, CPE Utilization, Real time data collection and analysis for diagnostics. Windows Memory management and troubleshooting methods like hang/crash issues.

  • Knowledge of process/thread management, thread scheduling, memory management, IRPs, system worker threads, and synchronization objects.

  • Windows Shell conf and management, diagnose components of Windows Store, Search, language packs, timezones and file type associations. UWP deployment stages, including AppX packaging, AppReadiness, and activation processes.

  • Experience in building labs with domain controllers, users, groups, and GPOs.

• Product/Process Improvement: You engage with Microsoft Engineering/ Supportability teams to investigate potential product defects and help develop automation techniques and diagnostic tools driving Microsoft product improvements.
