As a Principal cloud architect at Honeywell, you will be responsible for leading the strategic planning, design, and implementation of infrastructure solutions focusing on Mergers and acquisition, (M&A). This is a key role responsible for analyzing the existing IT/cloud infrastructures of both organizations to understand compatibility, scalability, and potential integration challenges, ensure cloud infrastructure is scalable, secure, and optimized for performance and cost.
The Principal Cloud Architect works closely with cross-functional teams, including M&A, DevOps, security, and IT/Cloud operations, to ensure alignment with business goals and technical requirements, identify risks associated with integrating different systems, technologies, and processes, create a strategy to integrate the IT infrastructures, considering both immediate and long-term business goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsibilities span across various domains of enterprise architecture, including business, data, application, and Infrastructure practice.
- Develop and maintain the organization's cloud strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technological advancements.
- Drive the adoption of cloud-native architectures and best practices, including microservices, containers, and serverless computing.
- Ensure integration supports the strategic goals of the merger or acquisition. This includes aligning IT strategy with business objectives to maximize value creation.
- Ensure that cloud architecture adheres to industry standards and regulatory requirements, including data privacy and security.
- Implement and maintain security best practices in cloud environments, such as identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and network security.
- Collaborate with the security team to conduct regular security assessments and audits.
- Drive automation efforts to reduce manual intervention and improve operational efficiency.
- Stay up to date with the latest cloud technologies, trends, and industry best practices.
- Drive innovation by exploring new cloud services and tools that can enhance business processes and outcomes.
- Lead proof-of-concept initiatives and pilot projects to test new cloud solutions.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud architecture, processes, and standards.
YOU MUST HAVE - Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
- Experience
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in cloud architecture and design.
- Hands on experience with providing architectural guidance during the M&A process, navigating solution architecture teams through the complexities of integration and helping to drive decision-making.
- Proven experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
- Strong background in infrastructure as code (IaC), DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience in leading large-scale cloud migration projects.
WE VALUE - Certifications
- Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect).
- Good understanding of federal regulations such as DFARS, NIST, GovCloud and Fedramp, CMMC certification is an added advantage.
