Job responsibilities
- Applies technical knowledge to assignments with a defined scope such as testing the performance of the infrastructure and understanding and verifying that requirements were successfully met
- Drives results, collects and analyzes monitoring data in test and production, and sees assignments through to completion
- Carries out day to day work assignments with some guidance and within documented parameters
- Escalates issues to appropriate leaders
- Develops considerations for upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications
- Provide technical expertise throughout the software lifecycle including design, implementation, and delivery.
- Understanding Queue Manager, queues, channels and other MQ objects.
- Add queue managers to clusters, queue sharing group for load balancing and failover.
- Demonstrated stong understanding of cloud, virtualization, APIs, and modern software languages.
- Provide MQ administration support to multiple applications.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on infrastructure disciplines concepts and 2+ years applied experience
- In-depth experience with IBM MQ/IIB functionality, design, integration, and implementation.
- Performing MQ and IIB systems programming in a zSeries operating system environment involving maintenance.
- Provides analysis, plan, MQ upgrades to new version and apply maintenance. Experience with installation, maintaining, and implementation of z/OS and ISV software .
- Understanding Queue Manager, queues, channels and other MQ objects.
- Proficient knowledge of hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessments
- Software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages: Python, Java, C, C++, Go, JCL, REXX, PERL, PHP, JYTHON, zOSMF Workflows, J2EE, MVC, JDBC, Servlets.
- Understanding or have experience with agile and lean philosophies.
- General knowledge of one specific infrastructure technology and moderate proficiency in relevant scripting languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, etc.)
- Experience with cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds
- Basic technical knowledge of additional technical domains
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with clear communication.
- Ability to collaborate with different roles to achieve common goals & Understanding RACF/ACF2 other security tools and protocol
- Experience with specific cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) as a plus.
- Familiarity with additional programming languages or frameworks as desirable.
